Am I the only one who thinks it unlikely that most PCs will be able to make a DC 25 Intimidate, Bluff and Diplomacy check? Any level 10 Pathfinder vanilla Bard will succeed. At that level, they have 3 Versatile Performances, that's 6 skills they roll with Perform. And since there aren't that many s...

Dwarves represent the working classes : they are strong, dirty, they drink beer, and they work. As a working character, they are defined by their occupation : no one care if his plumber likes pizzas or burritos, what's important is that he's a plumber. Elves represent aristocracy. As such, no one ca...

I have a friend who played it. 1/ They discovered who was the BBEG at the beginning of each module. But they wren'nt high level enough, so they had to grind sidequest they didn't care about. 2/ Regurlarly, they unlocked a new part of the map with higher level-monsters. It's not a ttrpg module, it's ...

Looking forward to seeing how my Chiurgeon Alchemist works as the party healer. He won't. Well, anyone can be out-of-combat healer thank to the medecine skill, because [insert incoherent rambling about how infinite healing with wand is lame, while infinite healing with skill is awesome]. So you can...

I've read this awesome though on the Paizo's forum : By the rules of PF2, there is basically no benefit to attempting to surprise someone. And honestly, I'm glad for it. A bit of context: no one understand how the transition from exploration mode to encounter mode works, especially when surprise is ...

Pregen characters are often really really bad. They are often created while the rules are in flux, and even when they are penned after the rules have cooled and congealed they are written by people who remember alternate proposals for the rules. Making rules errors under those circumstances is very...

It seems there've corrected the pregen characters - now they follow the bulk rules. It seems there was two layers of errors in the bulk values - the values given in the crb were wrong (there's an errata), and the computation on each pregen was wrong. And people on the official forum are still arguin...

In Pathfinder, any craft takes (at least) 4 days. I guess baking a cake or cooking a meal is some kind of craft (since it doesn't seem there's anything else which could handle baking or cooking). Hence it takes 4 days to bake a cake or to prepare a coffee. In the other hand, any craft takes 4 days i...

monster maths is a bit fixed. More precisely: monsters have randomly gained +1 in some stuff and -1 in other stuff - those changes are so random, it's as if the monsters were never playtested (since they don't have the same number as the playtest one at all). In the other hand, PCs get +2 (or more)...

OK, it seems you have the same rule mastery as any paizil. At least, you're not posting on an official paizo forum. The concentrate trait doesn't trigger AoO. But hey, there's a level 10 fighter feat to enter a stance to trigger AoO on concentrate action. Cackle is level 1. So... Here's what I answe...

Monster creation rules are out. I haven't read them yet. It's only two months late - some genius thoughts underwater combat rules were more important than monster and NPC creation rules in the CRB. Hurray, I guess? ... OH wait, it seems it's pure bullshit and the monster in the bestiary don't use t...

The final line is very telling - it may be bad phrasing, but it seems that the team can't wait to share with you the stories you want to tell. This is literally how I understand the final line - but I'm not a native English speaker, so I may be wrong. And I agree, this is Pathfinder: railroad editi...

Re: Cleverest game mechanics in your opinion?
During his turn, a character can make as many action as he wants . Every action past the third one increases the defense of the opponents. So the optimal number of action is 3 , but you're never blocked because "with one more action, I could do this awesome combo and it would be awesome":...

Re: Cleverest game mechanics in your opinion?
What mechanics do you think are really clever? Be it due to innovating in some way, doing things in elegant fashion or some other reason altogether. Luchadores, action economy. During his turn, a character can make as many action as he wants . Every action past the third one increases the defense o...

Better yet - just assume they are two different NPC. I have not read the adventure, but I would assume that the reason it is written as a single NPC is that he must have knowledge of the first encounter. Identical twin brothers don't have a shared mind. I would assume the reason it is written as a ...

Why even bother. Just give him a bad-guy-only emergency teleport ability and be done with it at that point, if you want to be transparent. That's clunky first-time-ever GMing type bullshit right there. Better yet - the first time they meet the bad guy is mentally occupying a golem-body. It's been d...
