So....Has anyone played Starfinder yet? I'm looking to try and actually read the damn thing at some point, and maybe several months from now run a game. I've become a little curious about it in coming months, especially after I got the product Deck of Many Worlds that showed off there being a pleth...

Well most creatures in Bionicle have both biological and mechanical parts. They need to eat, sleep and breathe (though recharging at powerstations can substitute for the first one). They can be poisoned, mutated (which also affects their mechanical parts), infected . Living Construct does 90% of wh...

Read on here that you can go from lvl 1 to 20 in the in-world time of less than a year. I mean, honestly that's a really long time to hit 20 in terms of mechanics, even in 3.5. You're really looking at months in most cases. For a 5e reference on this craziness you can look at Curse of Strahd. You l...

Re: Does Planar Binding work in 5e?
She isn't saying that the duration starts with casting a spell, she's saying that Planar Binding's casting time is longer than the duration of any summoning spell because you finish casting a summon and the duration starts, and then you start casting the Planar Binding, so the Summon ends one round...

Re: Does Planar Binding work in 5e?
So... Does the 5e Planar Binding spell just not work at all under any circumstance? Conjure (whatever) spells have a duration of concentration, up to one hour... and Planar Binding has a casting time of 1 hour, so even when you have seperate summoner and a binder: "The creature must be within ...

Appearantly, i am a bit spoiled by the Clan and higher TL IS Mediums that i have to deal with more often than i would like and thus grossly overestimated the BV of Medium Mechs. <.< But still: Shrek PPC Carrier. 900BV for 3x10DMG that will hit you across the board. This is basically an Awesome. And...

Two words: Savannah Master. That's a boogie man for new players. First, if you bring those to a map with rocky terrain, 2 levels of elevation change, or any decent amount of woods they can be absolutely useless. As hovers, with 4/5 pilots, a lot are going to get wrecked when they fail piloting skil...

How's the game play? I've watched some videos, which immediately unlocked a lot BT rules gathering dust since the late 90's, but I hadn't got much of a feeling about the degree to which BT and MechWarrior combine over the course of the campaign. If you know the rules, Battletech the table top game ...

If you don't care about Starfinder, feel free to ignore this. Wasn't Starfinder the sequel to Pathfinder that neither of the players enjoyed because it was too dumbed down? It has lots and lots of massive issues. First, you are super duper on rails for advancement. Like you cannot and will not get o...

I pointed out the Parry issue to my local discord and immediately got told by someone else I would get kicked off his table for rules layering. Apparently pointing out a flaw in the rules is as bad as using it to exploit the game. Go figure. Anyway, it's probably to early to tell but I have no idea...

Nor should you. The 40 million number is people who have played D&D since 1974 (clarified by the WotC PR department).deaddmwalking wrote:So I don't believe that 40 million Americans play D&D at least annually. But it was in my news feed yesterday.

1d6 with 2-3 steps Like roll to hit Roll to deal damage defender rolls a saving throw So 40k-ish? Is this guard needs to roll a 6 to hit, a 6 to wound with his lazgun and the demon needs a 2+ save? d6 is a range, and using a d6 three times provides a range of results, but it doesn't really set the ...

What is your ideal RNG range?
Pretty much what the subject says. I'm curious how much of an RNG range people actually feel comfortable using. What's the point/% chance where you as a GM just say 'don't roll, you're going to succeed anyways' and what's the point where you as a player looks at the odds and say 'That's just not goi...

So this is a lie ? A tank running over you is more like ashiatsu by an average sized man? Or am I neglecting the significance that that's pressure everywhere rather than just localized? It is and is not. If the supporting surface is soft enough you'll be pressed down, however if the tank can't push...

Ground pressure kills walkers. Tracks have really low ground pressure, even a very big tank like the M1 has a ground pressure of just 15 PSI. They can occasionally drive across snow or sand surfaces that won't reliably support infantry walking. (Note that the ground pressure tables usually is for a...

1/ Paizo has made only poor system until now, but until now they were constrained by the 3.5 framework. if they don't like it, maybe they could do something good by starting from scratch without any 3.5 heritage? They DID make a game from scratch. Starfinder. It's a literal dumpster fire of an MMO ...

I like the three action thing. I do not like most stuff is hidden behind class feats and features. I hate this. It's one of those ideas that seems cool, but in practice it's just needless tracking, and deciding what is and is not 1-3 actions. I think they should have just stuck with the existing ac...

I don't think anyone, except maybe OSR grogndards, seriously want classes to set characters in stone. Even people advocating for shitton of narrow classes also mentioned having shitton of feats to customize them the last time I checked. To me personally the purpose of classes is giving the general ...
