Re: [OSSR] Pathfinder Kingmaker

I mean in the story, dude. I showed up to my capital after it got invaded by monsters, and one of my advisors was dying from the assault. I called him a dumb pussy, and then he died. This man SELLS Raise Dead scrolls! Like, dude, do you just have one on you right now? I can use it. Right here. We e...

Re: [OSSR] Pathfinder Kingmaker

Eh, I bought 200 scrolls of Mass Heal and about 50 scrolls of Resurrection when I got to the last chapter, so you'll have enough money for that, I assure you.

Re:

From your comments on this thread, it sounds like the video game is much better, fixing some of the more questionable design choices Kingmaker made. But the Kingmaker Adventure Path is a colossal disappointment. And the worst part? I heard some people saying this is the best module that Paizo ever ...

2E alchemists don't have extracts, do they? Do you mean "infused reagents"?
Whoops, sorry. I thought TOZ was talking about an 1E alchemist. 2E alchemists are trash.

Looking forward to seeing how my Chiurgeon Alchemist works as the party healer. If Fall of Plaguestone is as bad as I hear, we'll all be dead by next session. (The first fight had me at Dying 3 by the second round.) As the main party healer he's pretty bad, since you want to use your extracts for b...

What should a Pathfinder 2e be aiming to accomplish? I think just cleaning up rules conflicts and re-organizing content of PF1 would've been fine, adjusting feats and so on like what Pathfinder was to D&D3.5 was to D&D3. Have a Player's Handbook where the Alchemist everyone likes is right t...

The Terran Hegemony IS the condominimum, and the tech level of the inner sphere, where tech level is slowly moving backwards because of constant warfare is the same asthetic as found in things like "falkenburg's legion" and "the mote in gods eye". Eh, the "tech slowly going...

Just as a point of discussion, wouldn't alignment make more sense in a world where there are literal gods which you know are not just figments of your imagination (due to their clerics having actual magic powers through their worship), which require you to behave in a certain way to get into their v...

I've been in two RPG groups throughout the entire decade, one always a GM, the other one sometimes as a player, other times as a GM. Almost always playing Pathfinder, with some tries at other RPG's sprinkled in for the second group. Good times, as far as my RPG experience goes. I hope I can keep it ...

They already announced way before the release of 2E that they'd still release pocket format books of 1E material as long as there was demand for it. And the campaign setting update book actually has some 2E mechanics in it (much to my chagrin, as a 1E guy I would have vastly preferred it to not them...

They don't need to ban their critics these days. The true believers will shout them down. 'Follow the leader' is a natural tendency which you see less of on the Den than paizo.com - there's more contrary people here - but which still is visible sometimes. Paizo's happy to encourage that tendency ra...

The weird thing about trading movement for attacking more in 3rd is that the melee characters are the ones who trade the most, athletic people with swords trying to just stand there and flail away, while frail old people in heavy robes dance around the battlefield speaking gibberish and making powe...

In first edition, when it was your turn to act in combat, you had a complicated menu of options, between move actions, standard actions, free actions, swift actions, and on and on. Maybe it's because I started with games where that's already a thing, but is it really hard to keep track of "the...

That seems to be a recurring complaint on the Paizo forums as well. After Occult Adventures, I'm not surprised.

There are probably hundreds of images of Amiri drawn throughout the many, many Pathfinder books Paizo released throughout the last decade, most of them by different artists. So there will be a lot of variation on how she was depicted. That being said, the new version looks more like a sickly goth pr...

To be fair, Paizo put forward actual playtest dates when they wanted people to play the individual parts. The second scenario is supposed to be played from August 23rd to September 6th (although you can of course play it at a later date, the surveys will remain open for a long time). I think only Co...

But the number scale seems very bad. Just that huge damage the game ends up with, rolling giant stacks of d12s multiple times a round (can I get a 20d12+14 crit?) is probably not going to be fun, it's just a bad result of their design strategy, and as far as I can tell it's the optimal solution to ...

The design goals of PF1 were: 'change everything just enough to make our game identity distinct and also make our claims of an overhaul fix plausible to those who don't look closely,' then the design goals of PF2 are probably very much the same. They're changing a whole bunch of things, but the onl...

Reading a story where all the powerful and famous vampires from VtM are transported to the Forgotten Realms, think they can take over easily and promptly get curb-stomped by Elminster, Manshoon and the Sîmbul actually would be kinda funny.
