Maybe not helpful, since it is neither neither D&D or Pathfinder, but you might want to search Ebay or your favorite online out-of-print pdf archive for Iron Crown Enterprise's Middle Earth roleplaying series. My group had some fun with that back in the day, and it is expressly designed for hand...

So what happened to Earthdawn anyway? Did it not sell well, or did it just lose out in the general collapse of FASA?

Who owns the rights to it now?

Both my players and I are pretty visually oriented, so having good art that I can show "this is what that thing in the pit you just uncovered looks like" is a must.

Bad art in a sourcebook has in fact caused me to cancel plans to run it.

I'm sure there can be good advice over here, but the forums at the official Eclipse Phase site are fairly active, and several of the folks there are happy to help out newbies.

Okay, I can see how you would want a mechanic to make the table slow down and notice the cool, stylish things your character does. But adding a cost just punishes people for giving their character a personality. Wouldn't the game have been better if you had *awarded* one XP for snatching the beer? ...

Basically, non-game changing fluff costs one or two points (in one of my games, a player spent one point to grab a beer bottle before it fell off an overturning table), while three or four would be, in the above example, for making sure an informative contact is where you want them to be. Why would...

Honestly I'm not sure what the point of making granular plot point expenditures and sliding scale costs is. I don't really see the difference between making a declaration that a bar has a particular menu item versus making a declaration that a bar has a particular kind of clientèle. Those really se...

The Cortex Game System uses this idea too. Their version of "Edge" is called plot points and can be spent on story altering events. The events altered range from minor, 1–2 Inconsequential: This is the bar that serves that particular kind of elven wine you always liked. 3–4 Minor: This is ...

Sometimes people who do bad things get away with it. Lots of times, in fact (Eliott Spitzer for instance). One has to make their own choices based on the best information available (and no, that would not just be Frank's word), and I will not be purchasing anymore Battletech or Shadowrun products un...

First post here. I figured this might be relevant to be added to this thread, even though it is more about Catalyst than Shadowrun. If I should have made a new thread, I apologize. This is the press release posted yesterday over at Eclipse Phase: Posthuman Studios is pleased to announce that the rep...
