Re: Rogues in a Construct & Undead heavy environment.
I know of the Cosmopolitan feat. That's 1 added skill to your class skills. I think Rokugan has the Versatile feat, which does 2. [br][br] Unearthed Arcana has "Skill Knowledge" (I think) - it's in a mini-sidebar. If you cross class, you can choose two skills from your other class to alwa...

Re: Expert Tactician
Oops. yeah - it's a 3.0 thing, and I'm not sure if the spell was in MotW or Savage Species (or both). I don't play with many rule changes in 3.5, though. Too much of a power-down, which tends to make broken things more brokety-broke.

Re: Expert Tactician
I have to admit that I use QttE to do things like cast spells or drink potions without taking an attack of opportunity. It doesn't explicitly say this works, but I assume that looking away means that they're not watching what you're doing and thus can't respond if you do something.[br][br]Does anyon...

Re: Expert Tactician
For reference, Thoth Amon, we all griped about this ruling on Nifty, long, long ago. You can read all the juicy comments here.
I'm not exactly quite sure why Combat Reflexes is a prereq for Expert Tactician, but it has nothing to do with AoO.

Re: Early Level Survival ... with an Arcane Trickster
Actually, Frank, the only spell area that I was aware that had a third dimension attached to it was a cylinder. I think that's the only effect with a height listed. Has this been corrected for 3.5?[br][br]As for Energy Immunity 's level... The last time I played with it was as a Druid. My mistake.[b...

Re: Early Level Survival ... with an Arcane Trickster
he radius of Meteor Swarm is 40 feet. It's not an insurmountable problem, but one which is, I think, more pain to get around than doing an extra seven dice of bludgeoning damage to one target is at 20th level. [br][br] Energy Immunity is a great 6th level spell... So is Fly .[br][br] 3.5 Meteor Swa...

Re: Early Level Survival ... with an Arcane Trickster
You know, I was almost with Frank until I realized you could sneak attack with Meteor Swarm. Does the damage you deal on a sneak attack with that turn out to be bludgeoning?

Re: Auto-fail in 3.0
Hey, hon... I don't know if it's what you're looking for, but in the back of my 3.0 PHB, there's this cute little section called From the Pages of Dragon . The first two pages are explanations of movement and AoO using pictures of models, and the next section is from "Sage Advice." The sub...

I think Spiderclimb is best handed out in slipper form. The last time I checked, having spiderclimbing shoes allowed you to keep your hands free - which is a major bonus.

Re: Most interesting plots, npcs, etc
This is a bit more vague... But for a while in the first campaign I ever played in, Ess (for some unknown reason) made lots of gnomes, or characters who were polymorphed into gnomes, who also turned out to be [negative] plot devices.[br][br]To this day, despite a change in campaign, whenever we see ...

Re: Character Optimization...
I do believe that every character has a story - or else you wouldn't have any reason for behaving a certain way given whatever conditions your DM throws at you. So long as a character continues to have a role in the party (ie: you're useful), its presence is fine. When that character needs more in o...

Re: Check my math
Frank, I don't care whether you're conclusion is right or wrong. I care about you trying to justify [to me] a property of game balance when it's based on faulty logic.[br][br]I read your math. It says[br][br]15 or 15 is balanced[br][br]15 and 15 is 30[br][br]Therefore 30 is balanced[br][br]Yes, you ...

However, if you take as given that the Keen Edge ability was balanced, and you also take as given that the Improved Critical ability was balanced, and you also take as given that the Scimitar was balanced - it follows naturally that combining them all together is likewise balanced [br][br]This is a...

The first comment you made I also noticed and thought was total garbage. The second comment not so much, though once or twice I took pause. And Earthdawn and Everway are two roleplaying games I have played - but weren't on the list. There should have at least been an "other" box.[br][br]Oh...

Re: Is Pippin a Bard?
I totally agree with the Count - Sam is hardcore![br][br]And I totally agree with Frank - Pippin is definitely a rogue. Just because someone sings doesn't mean they're a bard. It just means they sing. :uptosomething:[br][br]And since rogues get Perform in class, it wouldn't really surprise me if Pip...
