@souran, it's still stupid as fuck. Now instead of everyone becoming your fanatical slave only people willing to consider new ideas and alternatives are your fanatical slaves. The end result is still a no-save non-scalar system of Mind Control.

First, I've heard those stories, and they're bullshit. No monster is just going to sit there while you deal 3.5 damage to him every other round or so. So no, while you can crunch some math that says it's theoretically possible, it is a massive fail to say it will actually happen, unless you play th...

Why? Owls can fucking fly, and they don't own people. Neither do Rocs, necessarily. Are you purposefully being pedantic? We've all heard the tale of the Tarrasque who is beaten by a level 5 Wizard with a Crossbow. And look, that also explains the dominance of ranged attacks at high levels. Just bec...

Flight s being a must at high levels is because no matter how supersweet the Bleach guy is at swording, if his opponent can fly and he can't then he is fucked.

Unlike a move action, you can only take a Swift Action with a Swift Action. You can't downgrade a Move or a Standard. And you're giving up your Immediate Action. Taking away a character's Swift Action is hard to justify. Being specific to change Encounter to 5 minutes is still not useful. In fact, t...

Truenamer class gets it as a capstone with the added ability of a free teleport. Ears of the Mage from Dragon 359 tells you if someone said the name within CL * 10 miles and who/where that person is. Requires level 14.

+1d6 adds 3.5 elemental damage. +1 adds 1 damage and 1 attack. Power Attack converts this to 3 damage. They come to nearly even. +1 is probably better for being more versatile and not having to deal with immunities. Moving dice sizes has the problem of being really small differences in damage. 1d6 t...

Are you really equating calculus and Mensa to dividing by 4? Josh made a good point though, most people probably don't want to do the math. Which really supports armor being defense. Be it flat or percentage, damage mitigation requires 3rd grade math. Adding to AC requires kindergarten "which i...

sigma you're a fucking retard. and if kids can't divide 37 by 4 can they add 18+24+2+3+1+2+1 - 15 to figure out damage?

The solution to that is to make status's stack with everything but have more then three levels. Maybe 6 or 9 levels. And instead of monsters have laundry lists of immunities you can say things like "Super-powered dragons are immune to condition track 4 and below.

Thats a problem in the fantasy narrative then. The High wizard is NOT supposed to be able to create a demiplane by his own power. He's supposed to get some group made/or ancient artifact to do that, and frankly if its that then anyone can do it.... Most of the time the wizard is defintively NOT GOD...

I do think that's what he's saying. And to respond to your comment that "Become of the demigod of battle!" is fluff and therefore mutable to whatever fighter you want... you're right. But that still doesn't matter. On a thematic level the archtype of a high level wizard is stronger then th...

Like this: You get three actions a round: Swift Move Standard Move+Standard can be combined to use a Full Attack or whatever. If you want to move and attack a bunch of people at the same time, take whirlwind. Maybe if you want more flexibility you could allow for a single square of movement to be m...

I agree with ubernoob about this much accounting being tedious and stupid. But I will still humor your system. 1 AP = 2 initiative rank; You can spend leftover AP at the end of your turn to improve your initiative or you can lower your initiative to gain extra AP, both are up to 2 AP per round and y...

@Multiple Blending The Positive/Negative was simply an example. What's wrong with channeling both the Astral and Ethereal? The idea of a character blending these two works for a more "ghost-y" siphon. Being able to blend both Shadow and Negative also makes sense in a "dark is evil&quo...
