There is only one general purpose homebrew dnd wiki worth mentioning or linking to, unless you don't like things like 'authorial control', 'article consistency', or 'explicit balance declarations' I guess. It is the one linked in our sigs.

Also, prettier link.

Yes. [*]Guacamelee is a brawler with metroidvania exploration and a luchador theme. If that sentence didn't sell you on it, I'm not really sure what would. [*]Dust is a solid side scroller action rpg. If you have an xbox 360 you can grab the demo in the arcade (there does not appear to be a steam de...

Humble bundle's doing another indy bundle, including things like monaco, the swapper, and antichamber. I just picked it up, but already had antichamber. If anyone would like to redeem a copy of Antichamber on steam, reply here and I'll pm you a link for it.

1) No. The xbone is not backwards compatible with the xbox 360. You will need a 360 to play 360 games. 2) Yes, for now. Some games will come out for both systems, some games will only come out for one or the other, but I would expect that to taper off within 6-12 months as xbone and ps4 penetration ...

But at the same time Magic Jar contradicts the Raise Dead line of spells which strongly imply that undead don't have souls. So if someone makes you into an undead and then True Res is used on you is your undead just destroyed? Do you still get to resist True Res even if you're not in an outer plane...

It's usually quicker to retrofit an existing chassis into a gamer than to build one from scratch. Procreation is playing the long game, I admit. But I'm interested in the long term viability of the subgroup, so it's worth it overall for me. I understand plenty of others are less interested, so I'll...

I married a gamer, had kids, and waited until the time was right to drag them into my hobby. RPGKids worked rather well for it.

Or did you mean "create" in a less literal way?

Okay, yes not getting level appropriate things is bad, but that doesn't mean that high level bard progression has to not be level appropriate. Seriously specialize the class' spell selection and give them access to certain things earlier. A paladin can get true res as a 6th level spell because they...

I'm saying there's no real good place for the 4 spell level progression. It gives spells slow late and so slowly, you may as well just give auto-UMD with a related spell list (Cleric, Druid or Sorcerer) for purposes of spells, wands, etc. The rest of the Kantian paladin may be super spiffy but the ...

A <some class, but not ranger> built on the same chasis would get a level appropriate thing to beat up monsters with and a bunch of not level appropriate spells to do utility stuff with. Naw. I still think that is crap. Why be non-level appropriate at all? Casters do not have a secondary track of s...

Partial casting is only crap if you're supposed to rely on it to deal with challenges. That fails the SGT pretty hard not too far out of the gate. But that doesn't mean delayed progression can't be a thing, just that it can't be the primary thing. The kantian paladin gets spellcasting on the delayed...

Since no one has mentioned it, wtf is with the ACP on the mundane great shields? -10? -12!? Most people in mundane land go straight to staggering around if they pick one of those up, and that's really weird. Great shields might be a case where you need a lower ACP and an additional penalty to everyt...

So most people commenting see 'Ranger' as a specialized wilderness fighter (rightly so, because the previous spells were a joke). Is there a place for a partial-caster with a knockoff druid list, like a paladin but with trees instead of justice or whatever? Would you want that in core, and what woul...

[TRD] Racial Writeup Submissions

Alternate thread title: Please write us some fluffy padding. Because of some changes to racial formatting and a desire to avoid page breaks in the middle of an entry, we're looking at having each race on its own page. The mechanical bits and general description stuff take up about a half page, which...

[TRD] Core Ranger

I meant to put this up ages ago, and then things happened and I didn't. That's not to say that TRD stalled out, we just stopped on classes for a bit and didn't get around to the Ranger poll we'd planned. But we've (mostly) done the others that got voted up and a bunch of other stuff, and we're getti...

Considering that a spell arrow takes a standard action to fire, it would probably be acceptable to have the slot immediately empty after firing for instantaneous efffects . For effects with a duration, the slot should remain occupied until the effect ends. That way you can still have epic archers w...

The MC determines all the threat Nope, only the starting one. The MC is obligated to accomodate the players ideas (threats, NPCs, mcguffins, etc) through their "Previously on Danger Patrol" . Point of order - this doesn't mean the game can't be railroady, just that the players get to pick...
