Getting your enemies to focus fire can be a great way to tank them. Have them focus on you, abort to a defensive action (generally dodge, all levels on DCV and raise any abortable defenses). They are stuck doing reduced damage against you, while your friends pound away at them. The counter to this i...

I thought the circle of wealth was that dragons killed kings and took their treasury as loot until a dude kills them and takes all their stuff?

I've always wanted to run a game where when the players hit 10th level, a group of several high level casters teleport in, and tell them to gtfo the material plane, because high level casters rule the material plane from their magnificent mansions and don't want anyone challanging them. The goal of ...

I always wanted to run a setting based on Orwellian control of life by high level wizards. High level wizards basically killed off everything that can actually fight high level wizards, and then tell PCs to gtfo the material plane when they hit 10 or so. Not exactly what you were looking for, but as...

The way I understand bending to work, it is a skill. It's not some sort of magical power they have, but rather a skill gained by education and natural aptitude (like music or math). Thus shooting fire balls is no different than playing a guitar, and you need to learn the basic cords to be in the Fir...

Side banter, people forgetting whose turn it is, and the GM having to figure out what to do. Those are the biggest killers in my group (usually because the caster PCs have index cards with all their spells on them and know which ones to cast when)

At the end of a session I want to say I did something. Either by advancing previous goals, or gaining new goals. As far as XP goes, I've had games that give XP every session and games that hold off XP until the end of a "chapter" when the characters have enough down time to reasonably incr...

I once made a character (in hero system) based around Mr. Magoo. Basically he had lots of indirect, invisible power effect abilites; which made them not originate from him, nor was he obvious as the user of these powers. Basically he could walk around causing flower pots to drop on people and having...

And it's pretty simple. Water comes from somewhere, rains, then somehow gets back to where it started. Mountains squeeze water from the air, so it's wet on one side, and dry on the other. Islands are scrubby and windblown on one side and temperate on the lee. -Crissa Are there any other tips we can...

Well in HERO system, all you do is buy a high enough STR score, plus some advantages for sky holding (affects desolid, area of effect both come to mind).

The lifting ability of a character is equal to 25*2^(Value/5) in kg.

What is the difference between "Stealth guy" and "Infiltrator"? What does "Interference" specifically do?

Also, there is "Magic Guy" (if you have magic).

As far as TI goes, I hope the expansion will fix the single biggest flaw (You must take Imperium to win), after reading the rules, I might try out Imperium II and see what I think. For Descent, I use the "Road to Legend" expansion, which turns it from a 6-8 hour game, to a 50+ hour game, w...

I like how he uses 250 points as "high powered". Where I come from, that's a fraction of how we do super heroic. Also, 3 6's of luck explicitly helps your teammates... but Wick probably can't read (seeing has he likes to violate lots of meta rules). Also, how do you build a disease that on...

Between Transporters, Replicators, and Holodecks you can abuse so much Treknology that it's not even funny. Simply route your transporter through the subspace coil and you can suddenly beam over 100 light seconds with enough accuracy to end up inside someone's ship through their shields. Replace per...
