In my line of work, combining Kahlua and Bailey's with a whipped topping (which I assume the cake had) is known as a blowjob.

Maybe that's what brought Ess around. :uptosomething:

Maj at [unixtime wrote:1104628358[/unixtime]]See, this thread is a magnificent specimen demonstrating the fact that many of us, despite our argumentative natures, can attempt to intelligently discuss a topic, disagree, and then get over it.

I will not get over it. I just finished an unannounced and unofficial boycott of TGD b/c of all the penis-waving and ball-stomping, plus Frank and Lago said mean things about me. During the Christmas season, of all things.

The fact that I was trapped in Fresno has nothing to do with it. It was being offended. I swear.

You aren't still pissed about the "The Hanged Man is Such a Jerk" party we had a couple of months back, are you?

I mean, what with the cake, and the strippers and all, it was a pretty fun time. I'm surprised you weren't invited.

Yep, that was the one. I mean, jeez, you invite my wife, but not me?

Yay for rezzing dead threads!

For those of you who don't know, I entered the succubus paladin that was mentioned here and on nifty into this month's CO contest, on a lark.

Seeing as how I'm currently tied for first, I was curious how many of my votes came from here(and consequently, I can assume would ignore the "would be allowed in most campaigns" rule) and how many were just random people(whom I can only conclude either ignore the rule too, or don't realize what a bad idea it is to have someone with saves an average of 15-20 higher than most other characters of the same level).

You know if you wanted high saves, she should have gone blackguard-atonement-paladin and pocketed both Divine Grace and Dark Blessing

But then you run the risk of violating the "Making stembolt whine gets you DQ'd" rule.

You laugh, but that really is the actual reason I didn't do the Blackguard/Paladin thing.

RE: Contest Thread

The thought of anyone with ten levels of Dread Pirate winning anything other than a internationally sanctioned execution for genetic evil makes my flesh crawl.

They are disappointing me. Here I am trying to actually get a justification for their rules, and they won't take the bait.

I just went and looked again at the entries. I also noticed that the current winner has 10 levels of Dread Pirate. It seems that they have some confusion about the definiton of "optimization".

I think they should rename it the Character Obituary Board.

Certainly, those builds would die in any campaign that I've played in.

Yeah, I don't think the Dread Pirate is winning on Optimization at all.

Gee, really? You don't say.

One of the problems they always had was that it was sort of cliquey. New names tend to have to prove themselves, which is a bit understandable with all of the newbies around there, but more than a little annoying when you're going off hard numbers, such as in a competition like this.

I enjoyed the time I spent over on the Min/max boards, though I disappeared from them around the time they switched formats. A few of the old timers are still around (Snow Savant, LordShade) but I think most of the other regulars like Chris7476 and Funny Slaughter are gone now. I don't know, I don't go there much anymore.

I don't think it's a bad place, no more than I do this board. There's a lot of milling through chaff to get anything useful, but here, there's a lot of milling through flames instead. I don't know that that's a big improvement. *shrug*

Apparently, it's not min/maxing unless you have at least 4 different classes
