JE, you are being stupid.
You heard a story from someone who heard a story from someone who heard a story from someone who probably made it up that human flesh is addictive.
Now you believe this to be true for no apparent reason.
You have no evidence of this, of course. And this is very simply a dumb thing to believe. Humans don't eat humans enough for us to have a good body of evidence, and scientists would not be given a chance to ask people to do so for an experiment.
So why do you believe that human flesh has magic LSD in it that makes it a physically addictive substance somehow more potent than pig or cow? It is very easy to see the psychological addiction one might have to something like that, similar to serial killers who enjoy killing. But no one is stupid enough to believe that the act of killing someone magically transfers chemicals into your bloodstream from the air to make you feel good. We recognize that people can get adrenaline rushes from most any actions, but especially taboo ones.
Your specific example of "Wendigo Psychosis" is a fucking Psychosis and has nothing at all to do with the actual meat in question, but a belief about the meat. It is explicitly called out as being a cultural psychosis. IE, people who eat humans in Russia don't ever get this problem.
Ideally, there would be an actual test, in which four groups:
Those eating humans and being told they were eating humans.
Those eating Pigs and being told they were eating humans.
Those eating humans and being told they were eating Pigs.
Those eating Pigs and told they were eating Pigs.
But we know that study isn't going to be done in any current scientific culture. So how about you stop making totally unfounded assertions of the magic LSD meat without any evidence at all.

So JE is doomed to get high on eating his neighboors?Orca wrote:I've heard that there are quite a few cultural influences on how people go nuts. The stories you believe can influence where you go when you go off the rails, in other words.
Jusst kidding. I'm with Kaelik on the argument, though. I think the psychological impact of feeding on a sentient being would mess you up more than the chemical components of our delicious innards.
