Superhero tv shows
After the Teen Titan thread, I'm curious about the really good superhero tv shows.
Smallville was interesting for the first half season for me but I lost interest.
Same goes for Heroes. after the first season, it was all downhill.
For cartoons, the 90s Batman/Superman, the secret wars arc of Spiderman, and hell, the entire Iron Man cartoon.
JLA & JLU were decent but not the greatest.
I haven't seen league of superheroes and so I can't judge it.
The Batman is definitely ranks near the bottom.
Oh, The Tick. :-D

I will just list all the ones I've seen
Phantom 2040: It was okay, but since I never read the comic I can't know how accurate it was.
Fantastic Four (90's): Okay, but fun
Fantastic Four (2000's): Nearly the same but with better budget
Batman the Brave and the Bold: Put you mindset to Adam West's Batman and you are good to go.
Spectacular Spiderman: Seem good
Iron Man Armored Adventures: Pass
Spider man (MTV's) Pass
The Tick: Good
Batman TAS: Good
Spiderman (90's) Good
X-men (90's) Good
Wolverine and the X-men: Okay
X-men Evolution: Not that good
Teen Titans: Dumb song but good
That's all I can think of for now.

Just a heads up... Your post is pregnant... When you miss that many periods it's just a given.

Why are you folks only listing The Tick once?
The cartoon was made of pure win.
And the live "action" one starred Patrick Warburton and the mysterious guy from Lost.

The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."

The first season of The Spectacular Spider-Man is crazy good.
Batman the Animated Series is awesome.
Does the old Gargoyles series count? I'd say yes, and really quite good, if somewhat dated.
Buffy TVS is a superhero show, but without the masks and leotards. I'm not a big fan, but I know a lot of people are/were.

Avatar the Last Airbender.

I liked a bunch of superhero shows as a kid and these are ones I'd still like as an adult (in fact have bought a few seasons of some of these and watch em with mrs. clik)
cartoons:
Batman the Animated Series
Batman Beyond
Samurai Jack
The Tick
Teen Titans
Gargoyles
Phantom 2040
the occasional Superman or Justice League episode
As for live action:
Now & Again
The original Batman series from the 60s
1st season Dark Angel
The Flash
Smallville
The Sentinel
I'd probably add the Incredible Hulk, The Tick, and The Green Hornet, but haven't seen enough of any of em to judge
I'm not listing Anime since that's too much to list right now

I don't really care much for the first season of Justice League, before it becomes unlimited. I mean, it's not bad or even average, but like Frank said it just doesn't compare to how crazy the show gets later.
B:TAS has probably my favorite portrayal of Batman and Bruce Wayne. Batman is still intense and driven but not to the point where he's a cock. I really like Bruce's interactions with Dick/Tim and Alfred and how he's able to maintain a sense of humor and enjoyment.
I'm also going to have to stick up for Static Shock. It's a fun story about a street-smart teenager learning to be a superhero. It's kind of sad that they're not more mainstream, because I genuinely like Virgil and Richie. They're interesting both in their superhero and civilian personas.
Has anyone seen Loonatics or Legion of Superheroes? How are those? I also have vaguely fond memories of X-Men, too, but I don't know how it stands up today.

Here are the animated super hero shows that came to mind. Not listing anime, or shows I consider on par with Biker Mice from Mars/Street Sharks:
Image:
Savage Dragon:N/A Don't remember much about it.
Spawn: N/A Don't remember much about it.
The Maxx: N/A never saw it.
DC:
Batman the Animated Series: A My one of three favorite animated series of all time. great story lines, great animation, great setting, characters are awesome
Batman Beyond: A A good future setting of a character. Bruce is the best character in the show, the other characters are good he is just amazing. The ending of "Shriek" has one of the best dialogs ever between Bruce and Terry.
Justice League, Justice League Unlimited: N/A never watched them was out of the country when they started airing.
Superman the Animated Series: B Solid show I just don't like superman.
Teen Titans: B this has very very little relation to the comic. Ok it has some but it easier to say the disclaimer than to argue that they are similar. A fun zany show, though this may be counted as an anime it was part of my Saturday mornings.
WB
Static Shock: N/A didn't see enough of it to give it an actual rating, but what I did see I didn't like. Came off as a bland bad super hero show.
Freakazoid: B if Madman was made into a light hearted series, kinda in a really silly sorta way. Fun parody show that makes fun of things related to the 50s, and early 90s.
Marvel:
Spider-Man: The Animated Series (1994): A Closest to the comic story arcs. great voice acting, story arcs are great since they have a arc for the episode and an overarching arc for the season, great characters, good animation. If you ever wanted to learn about classical spider-man this is the show to watch.
The Spectacular Spider-Man: A This is an alternative Spider-Man setting, meaning the stories are different, and some of the characters too. Really well done.
Spider-Man the New Animated series: N/A I want to say D cause I couldn't stand the art work for the show, but I haven't watched enough to rate it properly.
Spider-Man Unlimited: N/A also came on while I lived overseas. Spider-Man in the future (2099). It came on when Pokemon was on, needless to say it died quickly. I saw an episode and liked it.
Any of the Fantastic Four shows: N/A never was into the fantastic four so I didn't watch it.
Iron Man shows: N/A can't remember them.
X-Men the animated series: B Best rendition of classic X-Men. Good characters, good animation, good plots, great voice actors. I also really enjoy it since focuses on other characters besides Wolverine.
X-Men: Evolution: D bland show, bland characters, bland art, bad voices, bad arcs. they seemed to take all the fun out of being a mutant.
Wolverine and the X-Men: N/A I dislike Wolverine as a central character therefore I haven't watched this show. I hear it is decent to good.
Dark Horse
The Mask: D, bad show. bad voices, bad stories, bad characters.
Other:
Ben 10: B MIB + Super Hero = Ben 10. Kid transforms into different aliens and fights things.
Jackie Chan Adventures: B If Big Trouble in Little China was an animated series this would be it.
The TICK: A I consider this one to be on par with Batman the animated series. The best superhero parody show I have seen.
Venture Brothers: B this would be an adventure show, but it does deal with a lot material from the golden age of comics. Another good parody show.
Wild Cats: N/A can't remember. I think I liked this show as a kid.
Request:
Ok what was the show that had super hero team consisting of a kid who could mutate into a supermanish character, a zombie and other people I don't remember? I am really annoyed that I can't remember what it was called.
That is all I can think of right now.

I really hope Warren Ellis had nothing to do with this version of spider-man. though I would still be impressed since he would have been 10 at the time it was produced.

Pimping Avatar: The Last Airbender a second time.
Other than the setting, the story is a perfect fit for a modern superhero story. It's also really awesome, especially season two.
