Gibberish of the day!

NJ, the universe is not deterministic on the small scale. You can 'determine' the outcome of a sufficiently large number of explicit parts, but not the actions of any one single part.
So Science itself tells us that so far, the universe is made of strange stuff.
The rest of what you said is gibberish, which is not what I meant when I made this thread...

Fuck! I think Michael Steele is about to be shown the door.
Too bad. I really liked that guy. He ran things the way Daddy Lago would've, including bankrolling strip joints.

In short, your entire post is dismissive of not merely my intelligence, but my agency. And I don't mean agency as a player within one of your games, I mean my agency as a person. You do not want me to be informed when I make the fundamental decisions of deciding whether to join your game or buying your rules system.

I would be very surprised if they don't wait until the midterm elections are resolved to give him the axe. That was the original plan, after all - to put a "token" in a position of power to pander to non-Conservatives and then dispose of him after the elections and put a white man back in charge. If they take him out now and fail to make progress in the election, someone "important" in the Party will have to take the fall for their failure, and no one wants to be left holding that bag.Lago PARANOIA wrote:Fuck! And besides, the Republican Party is rife with sex scandals - Michael Steele going to a strip club is much tamer stuff then fucking underage male pages, propositioning men for sex in bathrooms, or being caught wearing a diaper being spanked by a prostitute.

Everyone who generalizes is myopic.
yes, I shouldn't have generalized, but it does seem to be the general disposition on either side of the issue...
Jedi: 3, Sith: entire Jedi faction -1.
Obviously they are doing something right.
I've taken to calling myself a 'nontheist' these days. Because if I mention the word atheist christian people tell me that I worship science or something and get really angry about it because I hate god. (actual quotes)
And if I say 'agnostic' they all start trying to convert me. (again, actual not really but kinda quotes)
I have no problems with christians but I really wish they'd just leave me alone.

I had a friend who was approached by Mormons, asking him about his religion. He told them that he worshiped Tzeentch, the Changer of the Ways. And because the Mormons are taught to act interested in people's faiths as a way to get their foot in the door, they got to hear the whole spiel.Rejakor wrote:And if I say 'agnostic' they all start trying to convert me. When he got to the part about how Tzeentch changes things terribly and at random, they said that he didn't seem to be particularly moral and asked why my friend worshiped him. He looked around and stage-whispered: "I tried to stop once. I used to be white."
He is a black, black man.
I have never done anything more difficult than keep a straight face and nod at them sadly after he said that. Then we hurried away as if ashamed. I don't know if they bought it on any level, but I nearly died laughing and that was good enough for me.

My favorite part is that number 6 says "natural" woman and man, because they can't forget to exclude transexuals as well as gays.
It just makes me laugh to think about some angry hill billy calling in to complain that their old one "blah blah man and woman" was evilly advocating transexual relationships.

Hey, they dropped the bit about the gold standard, though! They're progressing!

Technically, Texas doesn't have hillbillies. So... Don't diss the poor unionist hillbillies ^-^Kaelik wrote:some angry hill billy

I only skimmed through to see if they "respect the right to life" (ie oppose abortions and euthanasia) and also support the death penalty (and giving firearms to every idiot on the street. And seeing as it's Texas, there are probably a lot of idiots). Because you're only allowed to kill people who specifically don't want to be killed.
And they didn't disappoint. Well that's not entirely true, they're a complete disappointment, but you know what I mean.

Why do racists never think they are being racists when they say shit like that?Crissa wrote:Tea Party responds to NAACP observation that there are racists in their movement, tainting their agenda.

That, and isn't this another proof that conservatives are fundamentally not funny people and they come off really badly when they try even basic forms of comedy like parody?

No, that can't be it. Consider the following:RobbyPants wrote:Because they're making a parody of some of the worst aspects of human nature?
I was drunk driving one afternoon, and I ran a red light. I plowed right into a guy who was driving home from the church with his newly wedded wife. I didn't panic or anything, though, I just calmly walked up to him and said, "We could make a big deal out of this and exchange insurance information, but that won't bring your wife back".
People ask me if I make up my jokes. They think they're too terrible to be true. Any they're right. Most of my jokes I just make up, because I'm clever. But that last one? I did it twice. To the same guy.

No, because they think they are doing a parody when they are in fact displaying some the worse aspects of human nature. It goes beyond an unsuccessful attempt at humor and moves into outright racism territory.RobbyPants wrote:Because they're making a parody of some of the worst aspects of human nature?
You can't shoehorn a political agenda into comedy. It's obvious and spoils the humor, but conservatives obviously enjoy racism so much that they think racism thinly disguised as parody is comedy.
