Chapter 1: The World(s) of Darkness
--the writeups of the alternate should include explicit and prominent explanations of their weather and astronomical features, since rain, moonlight, and sunlight are of such direct mechanical concern to so many monsters.
Chapter 4: Monstrous Society
Black Spiral Dancers are not given an place or time of origin or any hint as to the ethnicity of supernatural type of their members. They are also a poor thematic match for the Symphony of Silence.
Chapter 5: Skills
You need rules for breaking stuff as well as lifting stuff, especially for smashing ice (since Water Prison is a thing).
Chapter 7: Danger
--needs a "third round silver" rule.
--Wound Chart goes from 5 to 7+
--cars (and maybe lampposts) need a tag "D: requires devastation"
Chapter 8: Monsters
Chapter 9: Magic
Dowsing: can you get "passive magic perception" by wearing a magnet or a test-tube around your neck?
Dispelling:
--needs range (and maybe an accurate range too?)
--says "targets a source of magic" but it seems from the discipline write-ups that this should say "targets a source or targetof magic.
--how does the "suppression" work? I get that with a self-buff it means that you can't reactivate it. If you counter my Fire Starter spell once, does that mean I can no longer use it that fight? If I turn someone into a pig, and then someone sprinkles salt on the pig, do I lose my Transformation power? Do I automatically know when a sorcery has been suppressed, even if I'm nowhere nearby when it happens? (especially relevant for bind the name)
Question: Can you Teamwork a discipline activation? I'm mostly thinking Binding the Name, Modify Memory, Bitter Fruit, and the like.
Definition: "line of sight" needs to be defined so that we know if Small Witness, Distant Reflection, and Eyes of Night allow you to remotely target LOS spells.
Discipline Writeups:
Auspex
--Divination could use an example of a question and answer.
Presence
--Awe uses a stupid mechanic that adds an extra die roll needlessly to every social interaction, when the thresholds are largely arbitrary anyway and you already get a bonus just for having presence, and you pretty much can't fail social tests if you have enough social dice to get any benefit from Presence anyway. It needs to be completely replaced with something that does something.
Animalism
--Beckoning should give example thresholds, like, "spy for you: 1 hit; swarm people for you, 3 hits; attack at monster, 5 hits" or whatever.
--Transformation combines the sunrise/sunset criterion with the time tjart in an incoherent fashion.
--Songs in the Dark: how are controlled monsters directed?
Tjasing the Storm
--does lightning strike actually require that you be outdoors under clouds? I can't tell if that it "flavor-text" or not.
Coil of Thorns
--there are no "acids" in the gear chapter
--grass rope multiplies dice rolls needlessly, if you roll to determine teh strength of the plants which roll to grab someone.
--what is an "emotionless pawn"?
Trail of Tears
--does curse of failure really make you re-roll only the *hits*? If so, I expect a lot of PC kills from cursed soak rolls. And since it's a simple action you can curse/attack to OHKO most people without crazy dodge.
-- Can astral projection be "dispelled" to send people home? Or only while casting?
Veil of Morpheus
--horrid reality should say something like "a typical nightmare will inflict 3-damage" or something before the character intervenes to worsen things.
Descent of Entropy
--Rage-virus kills you instantly if you fail a single save and doesn't even necessarily require you to get hit. For a basic discipline, it kills PCs way too easily.
--Aura of Decay: do you spend a power point for each attack negated, or only once?
Names of the Blasphemies
--Some interpretations of Learn the Heart's Pain are ludicrously overpowered.
Feel free to discuss the "bugs" in this thread as that will keep it visible until it gets "stickied"

This one, at least, is apparently intentional. You really do have to be able to pick up an object to conceal it with this discipline.Orion wrote:Obfuscation
--Touch of Shadow reads "object can...continue to be covered" but Frank said elsewhere that you could use it on a car. Unless you need Devastation to do so, "continue" language should be removed.

It's also correct. Tj in place of Ch is real TGD history. It is a bit obscure; I only know about it because I find the old arguments on Nifty interesting.Pixels wrote:It's 'Chasing' That spelling is really freaking awesome though.Orion wrote:Tjasing the Storm

Re: World of Darkness Buglist
I'll get to these in parts.

I haven't changed this actually. When I ran your numbers, they didn't come out right, and I think you were doing it right. You were talking about how darkness or a fast target could leave you incapable of hitting with Spray-n-Pray, but that maneuver ignores target speed and visibility. So I don't know what that's about.Orion wrote: Chapter 7: Danger
--Spray-n-Pray sucks irredeemably [may have been addressed, I need to go check]
Chapter 8: Monsters
--The wording of the write-up conflicts with my interpretation of some comments seen elsewhere.
--Mirror goblins can't gain potency, but can they learn new disciplines?
--Akuma: do their natural weapons deal 3 before or after "+2 for Huegness"? If before, Akuma are *really* scary. If after, their "natural weapons" are pretty unimpressive (equivalent to a scaled-up knife).
These should be addressed now.Scleepah wrote:If a Wrath loses track of their fetters
