How viable would this be?

Post by Prak »

I just got a desire to troll a VtM game, and any Twilight fans that might be playing, by playing a:

"glitter-laced sunscreen wearing, flame thrower and flare gun wielding, molotov cocktail throwing Assamite who follows the Via Diabolos in VtM"

Really my question is whether there's anything that an OWoD VtM vampire could do to survive in the sunlight, other than have truly epic levels of Fortitude, since I know the rest is all perfectly viable (ok, the Via is questionable, but...)
Cuz apparently I gotta break this down for you dense motherfuckers- I'm trans feminine nonbinary. My pronouns are they/them.

You should gain sanity for finding out that the problems of a region are because there are fucking monsters there.

Not particularly. You fox frenzy when exposed to sunlight, so even if you *could* soak the damage, without epic levels of self-control you're gonna frenzy pretty quick and GTFO. Oh, and that doesn't even include the unbelievably strong urge you have to go to sleep at dawn anyway.

However, that being said, Kindred of the East, if your chi is out of balance, lets you spend 20 minutes or so in direct sunlight without a problem, though there are other penalties.

If you just want the Twilight-aggravation, play a Risen from Wraith. Almost indistinguishable from vampires supernaturally (aura sense says pale or "dead"), no sunlight restrictions, loads of angst, and they're harder than fuck to kill (they don't suffer aggravated damage. At all. And being angsty gives them pathos, which they use to regenerate. Think The Crow.)

Damn, forgot about the non-burning penalties of sunlight... if I actually find a VtM game to be a dick in, I'll have to see about playing a Risen, but if the ST is ok with it, I probably won't be a group I'd want to troll. ...The in-game societies on the other hand...

Play a vampire who is an author. S/he writes fiction pseudo-romance novels about sparkling vampires who stalk teenage girls because they really love them. Obviously, this is all intended to throw people off the trail as far as the nature of real vampires.

One time I saw someone play a Tzimisce embraced as a small child use vicissitude on a ghoul to create what amounted to a flesh mech. I thought it a rather interesting way to both go outside in sunlight and hide his true nature.
Current pet peeves:
Misuse of "per se". It means "[in] itself", not "precisely". Learn English.
Malformed singular possessives. It's almost always supposed to be 's.

That's some pretty epic power gaming. I still would have major issues with the going out in sunlight bit... Sunlight isn't just pure damage, it's frenzy and sleepy too.
