No low-level buffs, lol. Combat readiness, mage armour, shield (in case of abjurant), fly, etc are gone unless you burn slots for heighten. Only 1-2 levels of spells. I'd say in this way warlock perfectly played as a debuffer or controller role forcing opponent to get rid of most of his spells.

Wrong. Saint Template is just +2 CR, and can be added to any good aligned dual-natured creature
Read the damn page 29, plz. It is clearly told there that level 6 is minimum requirement.
You're fighting a warlock who makes touch attacks and you have fifth level spells like overland flight.
Translation: You are stupid and should feel stupid.
1. People keep taking monster races because they like at will spell-like abilities.
2. There are no dedicated "dark magic" spellcasters. Even Necromancers are played as "the guys who use fruity Hideous Laughters and Glitterdusts and illusion spells and sometimes casts Animate Dead.

Wait... the part where they admit that the FAQ is completely pointless is something you ignore while making the argument that the FAQ is something other than completely pointless, on the grounds that admitting that had happened would cause you to stop defending the fucking FAQ? What the fuck?

If you have 5th level spells then he possibly have some lvl 4 invocation.
Also I remind that whole this whole situation is possible under next set of circumstances:
1. Spellcaster bbeg...
2. ... with 4-5 level of spells...
3. ... against 6-7 level PC party...
4. ... or if warlock player have hard times with reading and do not know what is GoI.
So trying to persuade me that system goes wrong only on 2-3 levels or if warlock do not bothered about GoI is quite stupid. Also I remind that generally 6-7th level party spellcasters generally suck against GoI, even the wizard.

He may possibly have one single 4th level invocation. That invocation is probably going to be either Walk Unseen or Fell flight, neither of which is going to do anything to anyone in a Globe.

One possible situation in which an entire character class is negated occurs under those circumstances. Another is that a character who gains their power by consorting with Demons or Devils faces an Angel in combat.
Those are not the only times the system breaks down, those are the times the Warlock class is 100% useless, instead of 60% useless. The times where the system breaks down, where the system is "The Warlock class" is 100% of the time.

Kaelik, is it so hard to take some 4+ level invocation or what?
Btw, even if warlock took SNT, opponent can precast ray deflection spell and warlock still suck cocks (also he can feel snt being wasted feat, because when he can use blast it cuts its dpr by 2-3 times because of lack of metslas).
Princess wrote:Kaelik, is it so hard to take some 4+ level invocation or what?
Well, since you only get three Lesser Invocations ever, and you only get 2 before level ten, and those two are Walk Unseen and Fell Flight, and the Lesser Blast Shapes and Lesser Essences suck, but the Greater ones are actually pretty decent...
No, it's really easy to have a 4+ invocation. It's just not going to effect your eldritch blast until level 11.

Yes, the Warlock is ass all the time. This has nothing to do with the fact that it is totally legal to take SNT on Eldritch Blast.
