Random events: We hates them, we do.
Bandits in my capital, of all places.
Also, general tip: Capital-only mages can be effectively put in many places. Eight squares ahead of your main line is not one of them. I mean, unless they're a giant in full combat gear or similar.

Does this mean that the boring "live and let live" world peace period has come to an end?name_here wrote:Random events: We hates them, we do.

We'll see. Options are opening up through the power of research.
Damn, I'm going to need to start doing fatigue math soonish.
EDIT: eh, just poor placement. You could have done with slightly better timing on the other guys, though.

Well, actually, I'd been more than tempted to send the warning notice when you mentioned the war initially. I might pick it back up, going by spy reports.

Meh, just want to be absolutely clear that I'm being attacked by two forces at once, and I am in an extremely vulnerable position that only you and Ashdod can realistically exploit.
I absolutely need assistance to have any chance of preventing from Ashdod from assuming a very powerful position.

Turn sent.
So far turns have been pretty simple. Now they are about to get complicated. Also, a major issue of research planning has emerged.
Hey, Avor, could you get me a water bracelet soonish?

He is the construction man, so it's not entirely impossible given his research graph.

I don't know if cthulhu is engaging in the big lie, or this is just one of those hilarious perspective moments, but from my point of view, he's the one about to crush me and assume real ultimate power (at least as far as territory goes). If he has to turn any of his armies around to deal with R'lyeh forces, it's a sigh of relief for me.
cthulhu, if it's any comfort, you are getting at least some help on my front. Part 2 of why I'm relieved instead of gleeful.

Yeah, see, the biggest issue for me in deciding who to support is that I don't want Ermor to end up with twice as much territory as everyone else, but I also really don't want to see Ashdod do that either. Then again, only the doomstack has really impressed me in battle reports.
Also, Cthullu is actually only engaged on one front by two mobile armies, one of which is the doomstack and the other of which seems kind of tiny and shitty. Ocean Intel: Making trickery difficult since ever.
EDIT: Well, actually the one true random number god was kind of a dick to him this turn.

Lol, it's got 5 ankites in it. I guess if blessed superman is 'shitty' then yeah I suppose. That can carve up 100 undead horsemen and certainly any PD.name_here wrote:Yeah, see, the biggest issue for me in deciding who to support is that I don't want Ermor to end up with twice as much territory as everyone else, but I also really don't want to see Ashdod do that either. Eidt:
And you have two large armies standing off 50% of coast line. Also, Cthullu is actually only engaged on one front by two mobile armies, one of which is the doomstack and the other of which seems kind of tiny and shitty. Ocean Intel: Making trickery difficult since ever.

I am growing progressively more tempted to give both of you simultaneous object lessons in the power of dominions magic.
It'd probably be a bad idea, but still.
EDIT: eh, they're just sitting there until I pick a side. I'm not much for being outside of a fort. Besides, serious intervention will need to wait until my mages arrive. Also, the northern one is entirely Lobo Guard, it's not actually a big deal.

Not really, light lances can deal damage on that first strike. Use your holly 4 buff to make that hit harder and more reliably. (Communions boost H levels) Hit them with something like astral geyser or soul slay and they will fall down pretty fast. Astral evocation is underwhelming unless there are very few targets, but it is pretty good at that. You could also try trading with someone for ethereal xbows. Slap them on some scouts or something.cthulhu wrote:Lol, it's got 5 ankites in it. I guess if blessed superman is 'shitty' then yeah I suppose. So, um, there seems to have been a slight PM mixup.

Actually, I set one of my mages to make one a couple hours before I read this. I just got Construction 6. Next turn, I should be able to send you a crystal coin and water bracelet. Crafting those and another set of earth boots this turn.name_here wrote:Turn sent.

I'm tempted to make a golem or 2 next research level. Never built them before, but I've got the astral gems. Or I could alchemize them in the hopes of building up a better base of magical diversity.
Dude, golems aren't a very good plan because magic duel.

But they are like huge brown guys with huge muscles. I can have them lurk in my border forts to surprise people who decide to break truce and somehow attack my mages directly. I haven't made them before, but they are humanoid, so they probably have similar equipment slots to a regular humie. If they have any interesting immunities, I could try giving them something that synergizes with that. They can probably use heavy armor without fatigue so I might actually craft and use some.
The only time I have gotten to deploy an individually powerful physical combatant before was that game I summoned Al-Khazim in, and it only lasted 2 or 3 turns beyond that. Maybe golems will be cheaper to maintain than armies of hoplites.
