Nothing major, but have been a Bionic Commando fan since the NES, and I remember trying to shoehorn a bionic commando character into the ICE Cyberspace game we were playing in junior high. Anyhoo, it's many years later, I got an xbox 360 the other day and was pleased as punch to find the newest Bionic Commando game on there.
So I got the bug again, and started thinking... would be great to do some tabletop RP with the Bionic Commando verse. Anyone done this, or have any thoughts on what system would be a good match?

Well the Bionic Commando I saw in Marvel vs Capcom 3, reminded me of a Hobo with a grapple arm. So Cyberarm + hobo...=Shadowrun?
Otherwise I'm sure if you wanted a grapple arm equivalent length like that from a game like Just Cause 2, M&M would work just as well?

Is this a literal hobo, or some sort of prestige class? My shadowrun knowledge is teeny tiny.

Gotcha. I struggle with some personal intolerance towards SR, mainly because it was hard for me to get past the "NEW WAVE ELFS LOL". So perhaps I need to revisit the crunch and see if it's something worth doing. I did see some d20 Ghost In The Shell homebrew, which looked slick, but... I don't know... d20... uh.

I statted Nathan Spencer up as he appears in the newest game, using MnM. It worked- the character is definitely not powerful enough for a supers game, but is overpowered compared to regular mooks. Which is pretty much the case in the game. It did highlight how ridiculous his weaknesses in the game are- to survive the falls and damage he takes, he must have some sort of internal armor and a momentum-cancelling device in his bionic arm- but can't stand near radiation for more than a couple of seconds and drowns in chest-deep water.
I did start to like MnM, and their Warlords and Wombats was an... interesting take on point-buy fantasy. Anyone have experience with playing MnM successfully?

I've played quite a bit of 2e MnM and really enjoyed it. I haven't had a chance to take 3e out for a spin. The whole power level mechanic doesn't really cap your maximum attack or defenses since there are ways to go above it, but it does set a nice minimum, which cuts down on the dead weight in a group. Also your group really needs to describe what they are doing in colorful terms or it gets fairly boring with everyone going 'I move then attack'.
