I may just win the award for Dumbest Move of the Game. That was truly dire.Akula wrote:Dude, that was a bad idea...not fire immune undead prophet attacks a province with -8 dom and held by LA Abby.Gnosticism Is A Hoot wrote:Hmm . There goes a pile of gems.
Though in the end, it wasn't the fire immunity that killed him - it was banishment spam. Turns out that undead thugs have a pretty serious disadvantage, to balance out the whole no-encumbrance thing.

The thing that made me laugh was that he had immunity to lightening, which made me think that some mages were supposed to back him up with lightening spam, but no one else showed up. So the only element that he wasn't immune to was fire.
Banishment did literally 0 damage. Half his health went away to losing the MR check on a smite. Again, -8 dom did that. The other damage came from Dust to Dust, which any death nation that has researched thraum 1 can access, and that murders undead thugs.

He was indeed originally meant to travel with my Cavalcade of Lightning Doom. I took what I thought was an opportunity, and it didn't pan out.Akula wrote:The thing that made me laugh was that he had immunity to lightening, which made me think that some mages were supposed to back him up with lightening spam, but no one else showed up. I think you need more like 50 elephant guns. Holy shit man, that's a lot of Mammoths.Rabelais wrote:Turn in. anyone have an elephant gun I can borrow? Also selling blood stones for exorbitant immediate gem infusions.
Also, what the hell is Abysia doing in Behemoth's Rest (120). Anyone want me to evict him?
Finally, I think the TC-Chelms War will involve lots and lots of massive battles. This will be FUN

Abysia goes mercantle!
I have screenshots, but I'm not sure how to post them.
In other news....
Abysia has decided that it is not likely to survive by force of arms or magic, and is therefore going to try a new strategy:
Crony blood capitalism!
Boots of youth are on sale for 10 gems, or 20 bloodslaves. They will be delivered by midwinter or your money back.
Get your orders (and payments!) in now as quantities are extremely limited and late fall is the last manufacturing date available.
Due to recent reports of self-manufactured knockoffs, fire and astral gems are depreciated, and require 13 per set of boots.
Blood stones are 10 earth +20 gems of your choosing. 27 astral or fire.
Now these prices are somewhat extortionate, I grant, but ask about or NAP/Allied discounts!
For those friendly to Abysia, prices are lower. And if you'd rather keep attacking or conspiring against us, why it's just a little bit extra. You get that same great toasty warm feeling that comes with our hot hot hot customer service!
Still cheap to safeguard that critical elderly mage. Believe me, we here in Abysia know the horrors of bootless late winters all too well.
And those who visited the shop on foot, having brought 50+ Mammoths, be assured, prices will be VERY good if you promise not to trash the place any further and go AWAY. Large groups of Angry Giants may also receive special discounts, as long as I get to keep Solam. (119)
But that's not all!
If you have items Abysia needs they can be traded for full value and you can bank the hammer discount. Current needs are dwarven hammers, flying boots, wine skins, non-avian research boosters and anything that frightens or repels elephants!
Send a PM to propose an in-kind trade please.
Cash also accepted. inquire as to conversion rate or check earlier in the thread. Allied orders and/or orders that come with self-provided Blood slaves will receive priority. Thank you.

Both Utgard and Ti'en Ch'i are outstanding on the current turn with less than an hour and a half to go.
Do Jimbo and Orca need more time for this turn?
EDIT: Looks like the turn got in okay. So I guess I got worried for nothing.
Further edit, looks like 3rd time's the charm on the ermorian capital.
Double Super Secret Edit: Well, Ermor retreated his mages rather than fight for his cap for the 3rd time. Sigh, the war drags on.

They are really predictable, but quite nice heavy thugs. I like a Soul Vortex, Invulnerability, Summon Earthpower, Hold, Hold+Attack set up. Upside is that this can be used without a good bless and with only a lead shield and brand weapon can take almost infinite PD. I would work in the bless if I had a minor N or E component. The problem with Oracles is that they aren't very mobile and get dealt with quite well by a heavy mage force.TheNotSoEvilNecromancer wrote:Fucking Hell... Either Tomb Oracles are shit or I've been using them improperly, now those barbarians get all that gear.

I think it's basically over for me. Super tempted to drop the Burden for spite, but I don't think it'd make any difference at this point, except pissing off a bunch of people. I only have one hope left, and it's probably too late.Akula wrote:Double Super Secret Edit: Well, Ermor retreated his mages rather than fight for his cap for the 3rd time. Sigh, the war drags on.

If you'll look at the agreement that was signed, the Pact ended when R'lyeh was destroyed. Seeing as I never officially signed into your and Man's tripwire agreement I figured I'd take advantage of the situation. Granted I was also the one who convinced T'ien Ch'i (and Ulm, for that matter) to go to war with you in the first place so... I'll try at least to make the battle for your capital spectacular.
That is if you aren't dom-killed before that happens.

If you have enough gems for that, why don't you just summon a bunch of wights or banes?angelfromanotherpin wrote:I think it's basically over for me.
