Also, this thread is old, and a lot of the things could do with tweaking to be less a mess of abilities and more balanced (it doesn't help that I consider the core races to all be shit, and that the balance point should be a human and the bonus Tome feat they get at first level).
And yeah, Cirno trolls the Paizo forums and ENWorld but mostly hangs out on grognards.txt and sup/tg/, and yes, he can go eat a cocktopus.

Alright, now I can work on my own stuff.
If this thread is old, why not make a new one? By the way, if it isn't too much asked, could you check out the homebrews I made on another thread? I was kind of worried that they might be too weak for an actual Tome game now that you told me how weak the Core races are.
And I don't think people should really care about trolls like him. Though I wonder why I haven't seen him on EnWorld for a while...actually, fix that. I did see him, being forced to talk less like a dick though still coming off as one. Well, better for us here.
Edit/Update.

Your races are definitely better than core. I took a look but I've much happening to have the inclination to take a long, beady-eyed look at them.icyshadowlord wrote:Alright, now I can work on my own stuff.

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Maybe I will at some point. But I'd have to retool the races to be all balanced and stuff, and that means deciding on whether they're balanced with "YOU HAVE POINTY EARS AND LONGBOW PROFICIENCY" or "Here, have an extra Tome feat".icyshadowlord wrote: If this thread is old, why not make a new one?
Because Core races are what Tome is balanced for, it's just that there is a huge disparity between them all. And I personally find core races to be shit, and would much prefer the races to be hardcore and to still define some of your abilities later on down the track.
But a lot of people don't want that, some going as far as to say that the race should only be another descriptive word and do nothing mechanically. And doing it would change the power level of the entire game, which is beyond the scope of the Tomes.
*maybe* I could give a list of little perks the races hand out as you gain Hit Dice, that never actually matter and thus maybe you'll write on your sheet (and then go "Okay, so that's 120 Fire damage, I'm down to 1/4 HP. Oh wait, hahaha, reduce that by 5!") and maybe you won't bother writing them down and it saves space on the sheet.
I'll get around to that at some point.By the way, if it isn't too much asked, could you check out the homebrews I made on another thread?
