So I'm looking for headphone reviews and such for a friend and stumble across stereophile.com. Ah, this should be useful. I begin reading a review of some beatsbydr.dre 'phones and get to the second page when I read mention that only lossless formats are suitable for listening - my stomach begins to tighten. Finishing the review, I realize that four pages have gone by and not once has the reviewer said anything objective about the sound quality of the product.
Then a memory tickles my brain. Didn't I read an audiophile article a long time back that said something to the effect that objective, double-blind testing was flawed in evaluating sound equipment - on the basis that after the test, the participants were told which sources were which and were then able to discern differences? Oh, gawd. A quick site search turns up all these articles and forum topics with the word 'blind': My brain liquifies.
So creatard thinking dominates everywhere. Hurray.
