when you DM you get to see the game work the way YOU like best, it is the only time you get to do this, and add or remove parts you think should be there.
some fantasy player group might enjoy any and everything, but most people have individual likes and dislikes, and YOUR little thing might not be what the DM envisioned as being the world you play in.
other reasons are, even if it doesnt threaten the SoD of the game world, or the balance, it might just be shit in the eyes of the DM.
