Now that I think about it...it's not broken at all. I sorta jump the gun there.

Argaud wrote: Lets use the pregenerated NPCs in the DMG which are the official CR10 NPCs. ...Go read the DMG and learn what is a normal NPC.

That's right, there are official NPCs for each level. Anything else isn't playing by the rules.

Argaud is so incredibly stupid its not even funny.

See: http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.p ... 504[br][br](really, the people in that thread just don't understand how mid-high level play works)

I think Argaud is just one of those people who thinks the rules are perfect and nothing could ever change his mind. I've had him on ignore for a while though, so maybe my opinion of him is a bit higher than it should be.

Sorry, I didn't realise it was you. But yeah, it's not broken at all, and your usage of question marks is pretty funny ;)

Okay, this thread has gotten beyond retarded and has reached realms of stupidity I haven't seen since arguments about Final Fantasy.

I have to say, I'm loving the "Fighter 20/Wizard 10 for the epic win!"

Actually, it doesn't really strike me as much as some of the other threads. Most of the statements there aren't wearing the clothes of grown-up thoughts, so they simply don't reach the part of my brain where they'd receive the threshold of consideration necessary to even impress me with their level of self-inconsistency or wrongitude.

I dunno, it's sort of like seeing a person with a serious mental handicap at a podium during a convention. How can I really get tweaked about what they're saying? It's mostly just sad that someone let them up there.

Well the person with the mental handicap can't help that they have one, they can only deal with it. Those people on that thread I can assume have enough of an intelligence to type so they don't deserve such sympathy.

Hahahaha, I'll give up ten epic caster levels for +10 base attack bonus, and all those awesome fighter bonus feats. Ha ha ha ha ha! nothing can stop my wizard when he has Weapon Focus, Dodge, Mobility, and Spring Attack!

Squirrelloid, you should know better. You even have the relevant quote right in your signature.

There are a lot of people on the boards who hold opinions that are not backed by reason at all. Reading that warriors versus wizards thread just makes me cry. I mean after all this time, we still have people who believe that warriors and wizards are balanced at high levels.

I mean, what's it going to take...

It'll continue until we make people apply for breeding licenses and do our best to flush all the stupid out of the gene pool.

I loved this part:
wrote:Assuming equal base Con scores between the 16 HD ranger and the the ECL 16 (9 HD) erinyes, with its +5 Con bonus/hd the erinyes will have (4.5+5)*9+3.5 = 89 hp, whereas the ranger will have 4.5*16+3.5 = 75.5 hp. In other words hp are not that different.

I don't see a math error (parens first, multiply before add)...

...But I do see a logical scaling error: For every +1 con mod they take, the plain class gains 16 HP and the Erineys gains 9. Not that anyone puts additional stat bonuses to HP or anything, but...

...And then a range error; the plain class has a range from 16x+16 (which would never make it to 16) to 16x+128 while the Erineys has a range of 9x+54 to 9x+117 (the latter is actually a safer bet, btw)

But HP damage isn't what we're annoyed with here, it's that so many effects are based on HD and not CL.

It's 16x + 23 on the low end, actually. Max hp at 1st.

Heres the intro from a movie called Idiocracy. It takes the stupid people breeding to its logical extreme and runs with it.

It's equal on both, so it doesn't enter into the spread.

Another "ToB is overpowered" thread: Tome of Battle: munchkin?
Current pet peeves:
Misuse of "per se". It means "[in] itself", not "precisely". Learn English.
Malformed singular possessives. It's almost always supposed to be 's.

*grumble* tarkin pisses me off *grumble*

I hate it when people make arguments that blatantly contradict the rules.

tarkin wrote:P.S. You don't know how to play efreeti, particularly with wishes. When they wish, it costs them XP, among other things. Wishes also count as a high value service, which can NOT be purchased two for 1 from them. As a DM I would laugh at your silly attempt to game a wish, and have the Efreeti cheat you blatantly. 1. They are evil and 2. They can not benefit from their own wishes, even if the human makes it.
