[Adult/Lovecraft]Re-Penetrator

Post by Ancient History »

Because very few people demanded it and one begged "no."

The soundtrack for this review is "Move Your Dead Bones," the music video to the Beyond Re-Animator movie. Because they filmed in Spain...look, just go with me on this.

Burning Angel Entertainment, 2005. Hardcore in various positions, some oral. I have the "Special Edition" of the DVD - which comes in a regular DVD box with cover art and everything. The back cover copy actually provides an excellent summary of the plot:
Winner of the 2006 AVN Award for "Most Outrageous Sex Scene", Re-Penetrator (Directed by Doug Sakmann) is a pornographic spoof of H. P. Lovecraft's 80's horror flick Re-Animator The film is the story of a stripper (Joanna Angel), who after being dead for twenty years, is resurrected by a perverted mad scientist, Dr. Hubert Breast (Tommy Pistol). Dr. Breast vaginally injects the long dead, but exquisitely preserved, exotic dancer with a special serum so the re-penetrated corpse will return from the VIP room in hell and crave nothing but sex. After he injects her with a gooey green potion, the stripper awakens with an insatiable craving for balls and fucks the mad scientist from the gurney to the grave.
Special features include different cuts of the film, a behind-the-scenes look, audio commentary from the cast and the director, and theatrical trailers. I'm going to be straight with everybody here, even my dedication to research instincts isn't going to bring me to the point of listening to porn actors and the film director and director of photography do a MST3K over zombie fucking.

As should be perfectly clear, this is a spoof on the film Re-Animator, with only the most tenuous connections to Lovecraft's original tongue-in-cheek short story.

"Prometheus brought the gift of life - fire to man - but I - I will bring the world a much greater gift - immortality! Mwahuhuhuh."

The opening lines and the ratty electric piano music pretty much set the stage. A gore-stained, nekkid Joanna Angel lies on the table and allows Tommy Pistol to chew through his lines before letting him put something meant for inseminating horses between her legs (though thankfully, it looks like there was no penetration). Green goop running down her legs and Tommy still spouting stupid rip-offs from Frankenstein, the film starts with the twenty minutes of gore-sex.

Which mainly involves a lot of pale makeup on Joanna, some paint spatters and stuck-on wounds, and two instances of surprise blood packets bursting during oral sex (male and female); the film transitions allow the re-application of more faux-blood as necessary, so that the original all-white-cloth operating table that is the centerpiece of the set is quickly a macabre piece of art. While we're not really paying attention to the background, it looks like it was shot in a large shed of some kind with props from the local Spencer's Gifts - lava lamp, plasma ball, some dry ice, bottle of generic vodka, a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon, some fake intestines, fake fetus or alien or something in a jar lit from beneath, lots of syringes and vials filled with lightstick-fluid...

I like the soundtrack, it's this subdued-to-the-point-of-being-indistinguishable modern-day punk stuff, fast-paced and with a little death metal cookie monster voice, the balance skewed so only the drums and some of the guitars really come through until we get to the song "Fucking Zombies" by The Secretions, everything else lost beneath Joanna Angel's moaning.

About 18 minutes in, Tommy's character is exhausted but zombie hooker wants more - which gives us the lovely scene where she rides him and basically rips him apart - although all we can see are flying organs, Joanna's lovely blood-spattered front visage, and continual gouts of blood from the Tommy-corpse; the entrails take the longest, which is fitting. There's a full-length shot of the partially dismembered Tommy at the end which, with the right lighting and slow-pan, would have been down right macabre.

However, death has made the good doctor go limp, so the doctor grabs a glowing syringe...and fade out.

Special credits include "Corpse Girl makeup| by Zombie Dong", "Gore and Blood Effects| The Evil Carrot", and "Fog Man| Erect Dick Cheney". The credits roll to "Albert Fish" by Give Me Danger.

From any sort of Mythos standpoint - hell, even from the Re-Animator movie franchise standpoint - the film makes several obvious mistakes between the re-animated and regular zombies, and there wasn't a lot of connection to the movies. Credit where credit was due, at least everybody was trying; the organ-flinging fest at the end was unexpected and gave some minimal plot development, the two actors in this movie were having fun, the makeup and special effects were obvious but no more cheesy than your average haunted house.

Nice of them to get the little details right.

lmao, wtf is wrong with people?

I don't know if there's a cross between a laughing and vomitting smiley, but that is what I would use.

True story: the picture for the Doctor Tanis threat from the Shadowrun Horror boardgame is lifted from the heavily Reanimator-influenced pornographic film "ActionGirls: Soldiers of the Dead Part I".

Peculiar properties of spacetime ensure that the perception of the magnitude of Soon is fluid and dependent, not on an individual's time-reference, but on spatial and cultural location. A marketer generally perceives Soon as a finite, known, yet unspeakable time-interval; to a fan, the interval appears greater, and may in fact approach the infinite, becoming Never. Once the interval has passed, however, a certain time-lensing effect seems to occur, and the time-interval becomes vanishingly small. We therefore see the strange result that the same fragment of spacetime may be observed, in quick succession, as Soon, Never, and All Too Quickly.

So I've never heard of the reanimator before, is it worth watching?

O GOD NO

I made the mistake of trying to watch a scene from Reanimator.

I have seen things that cannot be unseen.

I AM UNCLEAN

The "head giving head" scene? That was brilliant. You should see the making-of documentary. His wife slapped him when she saw it!

I can't be sure... I'm trying to mentally purge the scene from my brain by washing it in a soluble honey/neon based mixture poured inside a brass pan consecrated by the bloody discharge and tears of tentacled orphans.

It's going wandarfolly well, because my brian is no longer able to make the correct neural pathway connections to think strayt, and I cannit remememeber my mother.

And yet, still I cannot unsee the scene. I think it was the one you said. My eyes were closed fer teh molst part.

So, in searching the internet for the above mentioned scene (because there is no greater endorsement to my mind than someone expressing abject horror), I found that there's a porn parody of Human Centipede, called, of course, Human Sexipede. It looks... well, terrible, but also possibly hilarious.
Cuz apparently I gotta break this down for you dense motherfuckers- I'm trans feminine nonbinary. My pronouns are they/them.

Because I know all of you care, it turns out that a highly abbreviated version of Re-Penetrator (basically, the majority of the sex scenes were cut, leaving mostly the "plot" clips - very well cut together, I must say) was included as the penultimate episode in the deliberately cheesy independent film LoveCracked: the Movie.

Although to be fair, I also use the research in a few pieces of academic fiction:
