Before I do anything with it, I'm going to wait and see for a bit longer if anything interesting comes out on it that I couldn't play on my DS Lite.

And I think Shrapnel has already called dibs on it if I decide I don't want it, and he lives maybe a half-hour drive away from me (on the East Coast.)

Barring either of those, probably, but there's still a lot to work out.

So I ordered White 2 on Amazon with Christmas gift credit and started playing it. 15+ hours of game play later, I finally beat Cheren.

Fuck I hate grinding.

Also, to give it a surprise alongside its punches) and some but not all Dragon types, fuck off Garchomp".

Prak: best suggestion is to catch the Riolu and level it until it has a fighting move. Those shits all have Bide or Counter or one of those other "It deals damage based on the amount of damage you did, not based on a Resistance, Attack and Defence calculation, hahaha" moves, so go for the OHKO.

That's what I did. Had to level it up to 15 so it got a real fighting move, because counter is shit when the enemy tactic is "use work up seven times, kill in one hit"

@Shrapnel: You can kill KO it now and after you beat the Elite Four you get another shot at catching it, albeit at a higher level (if you beat Colress on the Plasma Frigate post-game you also get a Master Ball and thus should get it easily.)

@Prak: Yeah, beating Cheren didn't take me too long (and while I did have a Genesect from Wi-Fi I didn't need to use it, doing the same as Koumei)

Whoops, Terrakion, the legendary musketeer thing. I was thinking of the Grass/Ground "I have trees on my back" turtle thing.

And yeah, you generally do have to grind that stupid ranch area. For what it's worth, that's pretty much the single most annoying part of the game, so once you're past it, things start looking up.

Yeah, you get your second big ball in the postgame after you've cleaned house but before your one-and-only-chance for any legendaries (I think?) You go to their flying pirate ship (IIRC it's at the abyss place where Coldragon is), beat him in a tough battle (vaguely. Much Levitating Steel, and decently high levels, but if you've already fed Cynthia her own feet this battle is a fucking joke unless you wander in without Fighting or Fire moves at all, in which case what the fuck is wrong with you?) and you get your second one. So you can wander around with your pockets bulging from the pair of massive balls.

Still not as bad as Cheren or Alder though, but that's not hard.

Other than the plot device ninjas I can forgive most of the named Team Plasma members since most of them give you cool shit (Colress gives you a master ball, Captain N gives you the version's legendary, Sage Rood gives you Zorua, etc. and while they're still all annoying idiots they aren't nearly as bad as the "good guys" in that regard, ironically)
