Oh, well then I guess you have absolutely no reason to complain when people call you a misogynist shithead for shit you said years ago, since you are specifically bringing up the misogynist shit you said years ago and defending it now because continuing to defend your years of misogynist rambling is more important to you than talking about the actual subject of conversation, which is entertainment that loses you.

You fucking shithead.

Kaelik, if long run-on sentences I can't comprehend and namecalling didn't make me stop shitposting years ago when you came here then it's not going to work because you keep doing it.

The difference is you have a history of whining and crying about how picked on you are, where I do not. I don't whine when people don't "follow my orders" mostly just because I don't give orders. I call you an idiot, and when you ignore me "order" to stop being an idiot, I keep calling you an idiot, instead of throwing a shit fit about how it is so mean of everyone to get mad at me just for saying that all women are scum and deserve to die, wah wah.

Going back Doctor Who: I still watch the show rabidly because I still really like the show, and I suppose the reason for that is that I'm used to Doctor Who not really having the greatest of plots (pretty much the entirety of Sylvester McCoy's run as the Doctor. Yet, oddly, he's one of my favorite Doctors. Hmm...).

So, regardless of whether Moffat's a good writer or not is not really going to sway my opinion of the show. In fact, the only thing that could really make me hate the show is if Michael Bay slapped his scabby, syphilis-ridden dick over it, like he always does.

Speaking of that fuckhead, has anyone seen his newest movie? It's literally just a bunch of meathead bodybuilders driving cars, lifting weights, fucking women and screwing over Adrian Monk.

Why on Gyub's green earth does anyone ever pay this poor excuse of a man money to make the worst movies since the days of Roger Cormen, Coleman Francis and Ed Wood?

It's literally not just that, but hey.

Casting is good. You have Mark Wahlberg in a role where he gets in over his head and is kind of hopeless. He's good at that. You have Duane Johnson being adorable and adorably violent, which somehow works. Ed Harris doesn't get much play which is too bad, and Tony Shaloub's character is a bit one dimensional sadly.

I might have avoided it if I realized it was a Michael Bay work, but then I'd have missed out. I'm a fan of acting by Marky Mark and The Rock, so it had a fair bit of momentum going towards pleasing me from the onset.

All in all, I liked it. B+. I went in expecting a light-hearted fictional buddies-heist-gone-wrong comedy, rather than a dark true crime adaptation with double helpings on the 'gone-wrong'. I started out rooting for the body builders, then began to root against them, and the transition was not upsetting.

I am guessing magazine count as entertainment still right?

Dragon #103 Nov 1985.

Letters to the editor asking about getting an article with the service to get parts of back issues, the editor (Kim Mohan) replies...
If you’re a member, you can order photocopies of any article from an out-of-print issue of DRAGON Magazine, as long as the article does NOT fall into one of these categories: 1) It has been reprinted in a Best of DRAGON® Magazine anthology; 2) It was written by Gary Gygax; 3) It is a work of fiction; or 4) It is an article that does not specifically pertain to a TSR® game. The reason for restriction 1 should be obvious: Why would you want to pay for one article when you can buy it, plus lots of others, for the same or less money? The reason for restrictions 2 through 4 is that the authors of those articles have retained ownership of the copyright to their materials, and as such we are not authorized to distribute copies. For the same reason, we cannot and will not honor requests to photocopy art.
and of course this is from the Dragon Magazine Archive software PDF version of this issue, so sometime between 1985 and sometime after HASBRO bought WotC in 1999 they release the DMA imagining that the rights have magically become theirs.

HA! no wonder D&D had to change these people never learned copyright law, nor read the material in the product they released to note that they were in violation of copyright by making the product in the first place.. I wonder if that letter and section of that issue was ever brought up during the controversy of the DMA software?

i am laughing so hard cause this IS entertaining me, but lost me on how could they even...

Pain & Gain was pretty enjoyable. Dwayne Johnson was easily the best part, but lots of the rest was also very fun. I'm glad I saw it.

I just cannot forgive a man who: made Devastator have balls, thought Thank God for Beef was a good actor, raped Pretenders (that chick in 2nd movie with a prehensile dick-tongue), turned Bumblebee into a YouTubePooping freak who pisses on people, and turned a tragic historical event into a special effects bonanza (no, not Titanic, although that was bad, too).

That Michael Bay fucks over pretty much anything he touches is a terrible movie maker doesn't mean that Pain & Gain was necessarily a bad movie.

I have no fucking clue, as I haven't seen it.

But exception to the rule, even a broken clock is right twice a day, yada yada yada.

Peculiar properties of spacetime ensure that the perception of the magnitude of Soon is fluid and dependent, not on an individual's time-reference, but on spatial and cultural location. A marketer generally perceives Soon as a finite, known, yet unspeakable time-interval; to a fan, the interval appears greater, and may in fact approach the infinite, becoming Never. Once the interval has passed, however, a certain time-lensing effect seems to occur, and the time-interval becomes vanishingly small. We therefore see the strange result that the same fragment of spacetime may be observed, in quick succession, as Soon, Never, and All Too Quickly.

The first phase of Marvel movies has been great, but I'm apprehensive about the second. They keep saying (with a straight face) that one of the next ones is Guardians of the Galaxy. WHY? Who would pay money to see the adventures of Vance Astro and Charlie Goddamn 27 in the twenty-fourth century? Fucking Yondu and his glittery Ice Man rip-off buddy can go right to hell.

Having just watched Snow White and the Huntsman, I can agree with Frank in almost every respect: the two exceptions being that the random white horse makes perfect sense (the fairy-controlled magpies who were leading Snow White there led the horse there too); and I'm extra disappointed that Snow White's power to destroy the queen was supposedly due to her innocence, purity, and fairness, but the fight ended in mundane brutality.

[*]It starts with a wave of crime attacks against the rich. We are literally supposed to feel sympathetic here and feel there is a desperate situation that calls for a hero.

What the fuck? Has everyone just forgot the past twelve months thousand years and suddenly rich people are our friends?

Could we get a movie or TV series for a non-shitty hero? Preferably one that isn't DC or Marvel? I'd love to see Witchblade given the full treatment.
Having just watched Arrow and not having seen any of the ads, I have to say that is not what the show is about. In the 23 episodes, almost all of his targets are rich people. With the exception of three, his poorest target is the head doctor of a hospital who is also a major drug supplier (though he hasn't been one for long, so he's probably just "rich"). Of the three poor primary targets, they are:
  • The Royal Flush Gang, who are just garden variety bank robbers whose leader is an unemployed steel worker. Targeted because they shot a policeman.
  • Firefly, who is an unemployed fireman turn arsonist. Targeted because he set a fireman on fire.
  • The Savior, who is an unemployed transit worker. Targeted because he was sending videos of him murdering his kidnap victims to local TV stations.
Meanwhile, he comes to the defense of rich dudes four times:
  • Saves his stepfather from having been kidnapped by another rich dude.
  • Stops a jewel thief who goes around putting remote control bomb collars on random civilians to force them to steal jewels for him (you could argue that his main victims are the security guards and civilians off the street that risk having their heads exploded rather than the rich people who lose jewels).
  • Saves his friend's billionaire father from being assassinated by other rich people (which turns out to be a big mistake).
  • The aforementioned thwarting of a bank heist.
There are also two episodes where he intervenes in a mob war, and I don't know how you want to count that. But certainly, in at least fifteen episodes out of 23, he is targeting rich people who are taking advantage of poor people. To the point that the police actually notice that his best friend gets saved by the vigilante twice even though he spends most of his time roughing up one percenters.

Never saw the ads of course, but if they were selling it as "rich guy protects the rich", they were very far off the mark.

The problem is that the little bird fairies are also never explained. You see the little birds when the horse shows up, and you see the little birds later on in the fairy land, but you are given zero explanation what the actual fuck. Apparently the bird fairies totally want her to escape and do some sort of blood magic thing to cleanse the forest. But the forest is already the dark forest before the Queen showed up (and the Queen has no power there in the first place, except for the fact that she obviously does because when she tries using her powers on things in the forest it totally works). And Snow White doesn't actually do any blood magic anything, she just stabs the Queen until she dies.

So what did the fairies want Snow White for? Why did they need Snow White to do that? And you know what? Just what the actual fuck about anything that happened?

Yes, you can tell a limited proximal cause story for every event that happens. But you can't tell one that makes any sense once you consider it in the context of the things in the movie. The exposition shits on the narrative constantly. The team of Dark Forest Hunters who are recruited to go after the Only Fucking Dark Forest Hunter after he changes sides (for being told he was being betrayed when he asked for his payment from someone other than the person who was supposed to give it to him) is the biggest chain of WTF, but it's hardly alone.

They did for the ads before it started airing here. Maybe they didn't have much to go on besides the bit where he was a rich guy targeted by bad dudes and became a hero and wants revenge and something something. Having seen the final episode (and nothing before that), and the whole thing actually still making sense, I want to go and give it a shot.

I still stand by my feeling that we could do with some more interesting heroes though. Before this, I had only heard of Green Arrow as "one of the second-rate (not Batman, Superman, Wonderwoman) DC heroes". But interesting superheroes would involve not going with DC to start with. But it looks like they made something good out of it anyway, they just needed some better people in charge of pitching it to Australia.

A Clash of Kings has been pretty bad the entire time, but only in the last few chapters has it actually been pissing me off. There's been a string of really stupid and/or gross chapters, including multiple instances where Tyrion has been a disgusting dumbshit.

As in there's a grotesque scene where he has sex with an unconscious woman, but of course because they're in twue wuv she wakes up and is totally into it.

Or, a couple chapters later, when after Sansa gets beaten and sexually humiliated, he cracks wise about how Joffrey will have a tougher time scaring Renly and Stannis because unlike Sansa they're not twelve-year-old girls. And then he asks Sansa, to her face, if she's "flowered" yet.

So, great, one of the only remotely decent characters has been carrying on a campaign of repugnance. And then there's Catelyn chapters, and Dany chapters, and even the Arya chapters are really stupid and unbelievably overwrought "the Lannisters are evil and rapine" shit.

I'd like it go back to nothing happening for hundreds of pages because everything that is happening is repulsive.

Oh but don't I get it, GRRM is deliberately creating an ugly world, that's how it was and what he's trying to evoke!

Get fucked.

Okay... I assume, because I don't remember this, that it is Shae. So you are complaining that someone who negotiated a long term contract of the sex for gold variety is having sex with someone he has had sex with like thousands of times. While that wouldn't go on the door as the greatest thing ever, that is hardly the rape you are painting it as. She has previously agreed to have sex with him whenever he wants. If you object to prostitution, then maybe you can call that non consensual, but if you object to prostitution, I would point out that he buys sex from women who don't love him all the time because he is "hideously deformed" according to everyone you ask.

How puritan are you? Tyrion made a sarcastic joke at someone's expense while demonstrating a large degree of indifference for how other people feel? Wow, that is totally different than everything else he has ever done. Like that time he joked about killing Bran would be a good thing, that was nothing like making a joke about beating 12 year old girls.

And whether she had flowered? Seriously dude, is it forbidden to talk about women parts brah? Isn't is icky when they bleed brah?
John Magnum wrote:even the Arya chapters are really stupid and unbelievably overwrought "the Lannisters are evil and rapine" shit.
Clearly you haven't been reading. The Arya chapters are about how everyone has been evil and raping. There are like five hundred instances of random villager number 6 saying "Wolf, Lion, who gives a fuck, they both murdered my son, raped my daughter, and ate my sheep."

The specific Arya chapters I'm reading are about the Lannisters because she is in Harrenhal and there's no one but Lannisters around her being sadistic and rapine.

So... you are dumb as shit and can't remember two chapters ago? You think that it is completely bullshit that the only people who do bad things around her are the people around her? You think it is absurd for people in the middle of a war to do bad things?

What exactly is your complaint?

Is it just me, or are a lot of medical dramas very blatantly anti-euthanasia?

Was enjoying Trauma Center in all of its wackiness when it hit me in the gut like knives taped to Mike Tyson's boxing gloves. I have a vague recollection of Scrubs and Doogie Howser being the same way, too.

What the hell?
