By how they balance, I took to mean, "How do they avoid actually falling on their face all the time."

The same way trolls grow new arms without adhering to the law of conservation of mass and energy and metallic dragons fly with their stupid wings (and for that matter, Chromatics with wings that just aren't big enough).

"Because they do."

Rule of cool usually applies. Maybe not as much as GrimDark (chainsaw-swords? Motorbikes? Automatic rocket launchers? Fuck yeah!), but still plenty for an awesome story.

Australian Adventures?

That I know of, it doesn't exist. If it did, it'd be the most killer campaign ever, with everything being deadly. Everything.

"Cool, we killed the tree that stings people to death. Let's check the loot."
"Hey, this piece of treasure is really pretty, it could be worth hea-"
*jab*
"Okay, you just got stung by the piece of treasure. Make for me a Fortitude save. For any bonuses, it's poison and a death effect."

Ak: I'm sorry, that's just a stupid argument. A horse's head and neck weighs more than the average whole person. People ride horses by balancing their weight over the forelegs. And horses don't fall over when people do that...

I never said it made sense... I just took it to mean such.

Next up on my list: Making said campaign setting. It'd be like Dark Sun, except deadlier, but also happier.

Beer has that effect.

True. Also, the heat (dehydration and sunstroke) and beer can explain any dumb decisions the PCs ever make. And you know PCs tend to do stupid things.

This keeps making me grin. I'm getting strong reminder of of Terry Pratchett's book, The Last Continent. It's available in paperback, and for the research value alone for making an Australian campaign setting, it's worth the six or seven bucks. Look for it in the fantasy section of a bookstore.

And I just remembered a month or so ago, I considered making a setting that's sorta Australian--where PCs are sent to a penal colony on another continent, a land with strange animals and strange people, and, it turns out, arcane magic that doesn't automatically come with a price tag in GP. Your material components might have to be gathered up from the desert.
He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Zak S, Zak Smith, Dndwithpornstars, Zak Sabbath. He is a terrible person and a hack at writing and art. His cultural contributions are less than Justin Bieber's, and he's a shitmuffin. Go go gadget Googlebomb!

Of course I own and have read that book *grin*

But it has to be said, although you could make it grim and serious (check out the actual penal colony and the barrel of laughs they had, or the explorers even), you can easily make an Aussie game that will get grins from your players. Everyone will have a ball. I guarantee it.

The Planar Handbook has a giant frog PC race, so you could just play one of those and take levels in Warlock or something.

I'll have to take a look... that could work just fine as it's really the "giant frog" rather than the stats or anything.

IIRC, it's a LA +0 Outsider (Native). Which sounds to me like an admission that most Planetouched suck as anything other than that.

It's a giant frog, gets a few special feats just for it, and is probably all you're looking for. Maybe ask a DM if you can take the Slaad prestige class from Savage Species - assuming it's any good. I'm not going to flip through it just to check.
