Okay, OB still hasn't surfaced, so we're moving on.

My apologies. I was at Chinajoy/Game Developers Conference in Shanghai this weekend. When I got back to my accomodations though it turned out there was no wifi.

I know things are going a bit slow, but I think that's mainly everyone's schedule is a bit disjointed. Anybody have any particular complaints/suggestions to improve the game?

Would it be helpful if I put prompts in there? 'cause seriously, I can't tell if the holdback is just lack of people posting, or if I have set up the scenario so poorly no one knows what to do.

I don't think you've been doing a poor job. I think part of it was people being a titch busy and probably a bit of well-meaning indecisiveness--I prefer to keep things at least a bit democratic, particularly if the path has some obvious hazards.

I think whipstitch has it. I at least have been pretty busy as of late and I don't want to ruin a democracy. Although I looking back I do think we could be a bit more decisive.

Kamoses just really doesn't have a lot to do.

At first I was trying to include a bit of nested if/then so that my actions could be tailored to whatever everyone else decided, but I'm unsure if that sort of thing is useful. This is my first PbP game, and so I just assumed that a given decision point means everything pauses for a least a day. I'd love for the pace to pick up, but don't know how best to help with that. The suggestion of prompts sounds like a good idea.

Okay, I think we have a rough agreement for the group to head to one of the oases, but which one: north-west or south-east?

[are there few enough trees in this oasis that we could count them]

So, do I understand Neb correctly that he wants to use the thighbone to pry open the hole that just opened in the trunk of the tree next to him?

Knowing there will be likely SAN loss, and now having someone stronger to assist, yes. Since Neb halfway saw into the one next to him, he'll go to another tree instead.

"We... we've been boning a tree VAGINA!!"
San loss indeed.

It'd be neat to come back here later when we don't have an army on our trails, to study these fantastic trees and maybe sell fruit women harems. Or get a big team to excavate a tree and bring it to a pervy rich guy. Hopefully without the barky 10ft penis of the male counterpart to these things around.

I previously posted that I'd like to be considered an alt for this game, but I have to retract that. Not nearly as much time on my hands as I expected.

I think this is a good point to talk about XP. Following the Conan d20 guidelines, I'm tracking XP independently based on your encounters, not just all the critters you all have killed. But as you face the unknown perils before you, your resolve thickens and the horrors of the past couple days sink into your souls.

Everybody goes up a level. Have fun, modify your character sheets, and report back when you're done.

Kamoses has leveled up, and now I'm kind of wishing I'd gone straight Scholar, because, like Wizard, deviating from Scholar is a bit of a stupid idea.

Kamoses now knows Death Touch and Spirit of the Land.
