Borba is relieved and excited by your return, and is most impressed as you describe your encounter with the Baatorian fiend. She notes your injuries and insists on getting some alcohol on them to prevent infection. The bartender, a floppy skinned Gnoll with lolling eyes and a lolling tongue, is called over and the situation is explained. A glass of three-X hooch is brought over, and it smells more like apple wood than it does like apple cider.
The brown liquid is applied to your cuts and it stings a lot, but you clench your teeth and endure it because it's probably good for you and a pretty woman is watching. If you have lost any hit points, you may recover one.
Just as the conversation turns to subjects other than how brave you're being, members of the on-duty guards arrive, glaives in hand. They seem a motley assortment of beastmen and their uniforms are somewhat shabbier than the ones Borba and Urog were wearing earlier today. Borba seems to recognize one of the Ibixians in the squad and explains your street brawl in a mostly positive light. Further, she suggests that you might be helpful to the city guard in other ways. The Bugbear sergeant agrees, and says that he'll arrange a meeting for you with the captain of Precinct 11 before lunch tomorrow. Not wanting to be arrested for murder, you agree.
Despite the bloodshed, Borba seems to think it was a lovely evening, and offers to take you back to her place.
If you wish to go home with Borba, turn to 032
If you wish to politely decline and go find your own place to crash, turn to 020.
Either way, during your next day you may meet with the captain of Precinct 11 during the next day before you've had two meal opportunities if you are not in a combat situation or otherwise occupied by turning to 056.
Also, either way you may meet up with Borba tomorrow when she gets off of work around dinner time by turning to 091

The Shades are dark and cramped. Much of the street has been taken over by piles of refuse and the semi-permanent stalls of street vendors. Honestly it can be difficult at times to tell where one begins and the other ends. The shantytown building esthetic is unappealing to you, it reminds you of your time in the refugee camp after the War of the Black Rose. The street winds this way and that, crossing and splitting and being occupied by barricades and haphazardly built dwellings. The street has a roof over it, and from the scratching sounds, you guess there to be another street above that. The moist darkness is overwhelming, and you find yourself at times moving around mostly by feel. Many of the locals do not need light to see, and the torches are spaced infrequently. Now and then you see pits, ramps, or stairs that lead down into the earth. This holds no attraction for you. Many buildings and heaps reach the ceiling, and you can only assume that stairs and ladders to the upper floors lie somewhere within.
You are passed by dark skinned Elves, ruddy skinned Goblins, blue scaled Kobolds, and pale skinned... somethings. The darkness doesn't seem to impinge on them, and even those with shabby clothing stride with what must look like confidence compared to your own cautious gait. Most ignore you, but a few gawk at your presence or giggle to their companions. It makes you feel self conscious.
Though scratching sounds are ever present and the distance produces frequent dull creaking sounds of unknowable origin, few people in The Shades speak above a whisper. So it is something of a surprise when a Kobold hatchling barks at you to get your attention. Puzzled, you see what the... boy? You're going to just assume this Kobold is a boy. Anyway, you approach the boy and ask what he wants.
The boy's tail wags excitedly as he tells you that for a silver note he can take you to “The Rumble”, which is apparently a thing that people would be willing to pay a silver note to be taken to.
If you accept the boy's offer, pay one silver note and turn to 060.
If you tell the boy that you're fine on your own, turn to 099.
If you tell the boy that you are looking for Der'renya, turn to 086
