I see two major possibilities here, but neither one is actually "an event for X or Y":
1. Pokemon Z. We know there will be a third one, which introduces Move Tutors again and all that. Quite possibly your wandering legendary won't be Zapdos/Articuno/Moltres, but will be a Lati@s. Possibly depending on whether or not you're allowed to wear a dress.

2. The next remake is likely to happen in this generation, and the hints they dropped have hardly been subtle. We're probably talking about _____Ruby and _____Sapphire getting released as 6Gen, fully compatible with XYZ. Given they're originally from RSE, they could be released in that (probably as wandering fuckheads, and probably depending on the version or your gender), but the data for their existence and mega-formes has to already be in XY.

And yeah, Sky actually had a good pool of pokemon there, and it's not like 5Gen actually added that many new ones that we like.

I hope Pokemon Z comes with a Mega Mewtwo Z which has gigantic defenses instead of gigantic offenses and the same speed. Given the movepool that Mewtwo has, that would actually be one of the strongest pokemon ever.

edit: Mega Kangaskhan is insanely strong.

I know, solid defences, good HP to start with, decent speed, and Attack is over 100, so that's quite solid just as a baseline. The fact that you can sneak an extra hit (or more, depending on the move) and trigger on-hit effects multiple times is a bonus.

Z should allow mega-Kangas to pick up elemental punches (two chances of Burn/Paralysis/Freeze) and Drain Punch (even more HP drain!) I imagine Sub-Punch should still be amazing as well if you can be bothered breeding Focus Punch onto it.

Okay, the "spare" Tyranitar hatched. Female, above average stat total with a 31IV in Attack and a 0IV in Defence, and the nature that boosts Special Defence (remember that SpDef gets another boost in sandstorms ie always) and reduces Special Attack. She knows Dragon Dance. Willing to trade for anything so she has a good home, but a Shellder/Cloyster would be awesome.

I think (operative word there) that I have a Cloyster (well, Shellder,) with skill link. Would that be cool?

Edit: yes, it is a Shellder, female, Lv. 25, has skill link and icicle spear, rash nature (Sp. Atk up, Sp. Def down), not been trained, no idea about the IV's.

Greatness. Is this done through Wonder Trade or something else?

Wonder Trade is a random trade: you don't know who the other person is, and you don't know what they're sending you. Mostly people send "failures" from their mass breeding programs (they're trying to get Solosis with 31IV in everything except Attack and Speed and a 0IV in Speed and the good Ability, it doesn't quite work out that way or has a detrimental Nature).

We both have to have registered each others' friend codes on the DS, then we have to both be online at the same time. Then you select the other person's face from the friend list, and "Request Trade".

Yeah, we've registered each other. Weird, you're not showing up either. I think my 3ds name is Zae, and my character name in X is Acacia.

There we go!

Also, I now have a blue psiduck, and if we don't include "this is always shiny" ones like Red Gyarados or the B2W2 Pink Dratini, likewise Action-Replay "shiny enabled" ones, this is my first shiny that isn't a Fighting type. I found it while sitting in a field using Sweet Scent to battle swarms (Ampharos with Discharge to clear an entire swarm in one go, thus giving 5x the IVs. Equip the right training item and you're getting 25 per swarm).

The only Shiny I've ever caught legitimately in the wild was a Shiny Geodude, waaaaay back in Emerald. It currently resides in Box 2 of the Unovan PC system, awaiting transferal to Kalos.

Speaking of PC's, who runs the system in Kalos and where can I find them? I'm tired of seeing "Someone's PC".

Now that I have a name, it is time to search!

According to Bulbapedia, he's in Camphrier Town.

Arigatō.

Back in the original Silver, I caught a shiny Vulpix and a Raticate.
He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

--The horror of Mario

Zak S, Zak Smith, Dndwithpornstars, Zak Sabbath. He is a terrible person and a hack at writing and art. His cultural contributions are less than Justin Bieber's, and he's a shitmuffin. Go go gadget Googlebomb!

...I found a shiny Geodude in a swarm. Naturally, they all chose to use Magnitude (I wish to point out I was using a Flying pokemon: this could not actually hurt me), so they knocked each other out, including the shiny.

This would annoy me, but even evolving it into Golem is still basically something I'd never use. I mean, I don't intend on actually using Blueduck.

I'll hook my voodoo up and add you, Whipstitch.

Actually, I was saying that I would add Whipstitch to my small bevy of buxom friends as well. I probably could've made that clearer.

An IRC channel I frequent has its own googledoc where you add your name and friendcode to the list then add everyone else, so people can get lots of friends (many they don't even know). I'd say the Den should do that, but let's be honest: there are like five of us that play Pokeymans.

So, I now have MAXIMUM STYLE. So the Bonding guy gave me the final power. The egg-hatching O-Power, which is pretty neat, what with this generation being more breeding-focused than ever before*. Easiest way to get maximum style: just go to their pokeball shop, go down to "Premier Ball" (the cheap one) and spam the A button. You need to make individual purchases, not just buy 100 at once, but each purchase raises your style, so after a hundred of those, you should be good to go. Note: you also need to have all of the other O-Powers in order to get Hatching Power.

So should we take bets on how long before we get DLC Mega-Stones you have to purchase?

*You can more easily breed the right nature and the IVs you want, if you have the right parents. Also, breeding Hidden Abilities, both parents can pass Egg Moves down, etc.

I -want- this generation, but I have no 2DS and won't for a good while.
