Sorry, been kinda busy. Checked. Also, Abysia, check your messages next turn.

Huh. So TC is desperately trying to finnagle a deal with Abysia now that the main army they have close to the Abysian border was destroyed, and the secondary army is a single-dimensional raiding force that was just cutoff from their supply base.

Haha.

Good one. Yeah, that was totally my main army.

Never said it was your main army. I said it was your only real army down south that's actually close to Abysia, and all that remains is a secondary single-dimensional raiding nub.

Really, is no one still not aware that your forces are aligned mainly to the north? Fending off a really pissed off Marignon?

So, again, this is just more stupid spin from TC.

So... did I miss something or has there been no turn for 3 days?

I am going AI, as I lost basically all my mages demonstrating that I have no idea how one beats sacred giants.

If I wasn't invested in stabbing my jerk neighbors in the face, I'd be tempted to jump on that bandwagon. :) Llamaserver works for Dom4 now, apparently. That'll streamline future games a bit.

As for the turn, in. Looks like I might need to shift some movement paths a bit. My mages are trying new stuff, but none of that stuff improves their overland movement.

I also have no idea how to beat sacred giants. Let's start a conversation in another thread about beating sacred giants.

In this particular case, I think the low precision of your crossbowmen combined with the slow rate of fire meant that even with Flaming Arrows the damage dealt wasn't concentrated enough to stop it being regenerated away by my Nature bless. In addition the skelespam tactic relies on the attackers racking up fatigue as they chew their way through the horde, and my Gamhirdings were pretty much fatigue-neutral due to the Earth bless.

I just had a really weird dream that for some reason has given me the idea to try a tactic I have heard of, but never used. Next turn should be interesting.

Sacred giants essentially need to be defeated by a combination of either lots of small guys doing multiple attacks (e.g. Dual-wield troops), a lot of small guys with bigger damage attacks (e.g. Barbarians), or being LA Ulm and spamming Paralyze or Mind Burn with your cheap and easily spammable S1s and fast research. Flaming Arrows frankly feels too slow to setup, and is better with massed fast-shooting archers as opposed to slow-shooting crossbowmen.

Also, TC's threatening to go AI? Against "jerk neighbors" when you've been engaging in petty thievery all this time? Seriously?

Ulm's position is way more difficult given the double team since around the start of the second year and yet we're still bloody standing and telling you scheming Pangaean/TC bastards to bring it the fuck on (In Latin). Of course, neither of you were actually man enough to actually stand and fight... we've had to chase after you and pummel any armies not wise enough to retreat.

I'm guessing Pangaea expected their communion to work better than it did.

Stymphalians charge in fast, but they also charge out fast when they start dying in large numbers. Which they will do, because they only have 7 hit points. When the army runs away, your communicants are left there on the field and get over run.

Well, that was fun. Scratch off TC's raiding force from among the ranks of the living. Pity only two of his mages were involved in that battle and got murdered.

Fortunately, a nice big juicy OMNOM target appeared right beside us :).

Well, of course that was going to come back to bite me. 35 frickin' gems stolen by a "Master Thief". I'd thought all my Norna would insulate me from that fuckery but I've yet to see an "action was taken to prevent the event" message once! Although the event triggered on one of my non-Cap labs, so they couldn't have helped regardless.

Still, fucking fuck.

Lammashtas are less awesome than I thought. Time to find something else to spend death gems on. Maybe if I empower a little I can try out some cross-path stuff on celestial masters?

Pangaea, let me know if you need new items.

I've had a couple of bad events prevented by my Fortune Tellers. But I have a lot more of them and they're concentrated in a few provinces.

At Growth 3 and Misfortune 2, my capital is well below starting population. It makes about 200 gold a turn, right through my Order and Productivity. Did you know that there's an event where a goat blood fire in your lab kills mages in your capital? Yeah, it's fucking exciting. You can actually get diseases from events, and when they strike your capital, which they sometimes do twice in one turn, you get a lot of diseased capital only slow to recruit mages. It's actually pretty fucked. Also, I've had to grab one throne three times, because it keeps just getting up and leaving my empire.

Misfortune 2 has cost me more than all of my positive scales have given me. By a rather large amount actually. Luck doesn't give you very much, but I think it might be worth it just because the bad events are very, very, very bad.

I just keep having mass deaths. Every other turn I lose 2-5K people from a random province, sometimes from two.
