Happy New Year!

This year I get to file our taxes (state) jointly. That means we get to deduct slightly more ^-^

Yay!

I spent the new year at work, just like the four years previous.

Why can't I be doing something cool on New Year's, like eating ice cream, or having sex, or eating ice cream while having sex?

On new years I discovered that there were complete episodes of "The Mighty Boosh" on youtube and immediately watched a bunch.

Watching grainy episodes of a cult sureal comedy series is what the hip young people do for new year.

Right?

I wouldn't know, I haven't technically ever been considered hip, even though I was actually young once.

We watched old dance videos on youtube and reminisced about the good ol' times (98-00).

Afterwards I went to a party where I paid 20 euros for two beers.

Holy Dicks! Isn't that like paying $75.00 for two beers?

I've never had a $37.00 (give or take) beer. What was it like?

I'd be afriad to piss it out.

20.00 EUR = 26.1515 USD according to XE.com, but, still, a $13 beer? That still should better be a great beer--or accompanied by hot chicks.

Oh, yeah, HNY and all.

My girlfriend and me(and I?) had some moonshine over at my cousins and then watched '30 pulp flicks till early morning.
As far as New Years go(cold, barfing, getting dumped, etc), i'd rate this one as a success.

And while we're not on the subject, how much does a beer cost in your countries? Over here, it's 2$/L in a store, twice or triple that in a bar.

It honestly depends on the beer. Pisswater like Milwaukee's Best is cheap, good stuff is more expensive.

And it's been so long since I've bought beer, that I couldn't tell you how much they cost. But they usually cost more in bars here too.

In a bar, you can sometimes get piss water beer like Coors Light or Bud Light on a special for a $1 a bottle. Rarely. The more typical "special" price is $2 a bottle. Better beers can range from about $3.50 a bottle (or mug if it's on tap) up to about $7 per.

A case of Coors Light cans costs under $20, as I recall. A case of Guinness costs around $37. A case of Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat (the most recent beer I purchased) costs around $32.

2 euros for a glass (about as much as a bottle) is par for the course over here.

In the supermarket beer comes in crates of 24 (mostly) or 12 (only two brands have this) bottles. The large ones go for between 7 and 10 euros. Six packs are hardly sold.
