I've had a "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED" page when trying to access tgdmb.com for a few times today, right now it seems to work just fine (Win7 64bit, Chrome 47.0.2526.106 m). I am using ProxMate to unblock YouTube, but I've had the problem in the past a few times even without that plugin so I guess it's not the reason.

I got this around 9:16 AM EDT:
It lasted a few minutes, but went away before I had any time to further troubleshoot. Looking at it, it's entirely possible it was on my end, but I'll post this in case anyone else noticed something similar.ERROR 502 - BAD GATEWAY
Why am I seeing this page?
The server that your request has reached is acting as a gateway or proxy to fulfil the request made by your client.
Web Browser => Web Front-End => Web Back-End
This server (Web Front-End) received an invalid response from an upstream (Web Back-End) server it accessed to fulfil the request.
In most cases this will not mean that the upstream server is down, but rather that the upstream server and the gateway/proxy do not agree on the protocol for exchanging data.
This problem is most commonly caused when there is a problem with IP communications between the Web Front and Back-Ends. Before you attempt to resolve this problem you should clear your browser cache completely.

I just got the same error when attempting to read a thread in IMHO. Fixed itself when I reloaded the thread though.

Is this still an issue? I'm guessing not, or others would be posting about it. But I want to make sure.Kaelik wrote:Was attempting to search for "morale bonus immunity" also "morale bonus" also "morale" all returned "Could not insert search results" whatever that means
I'll research with the host and see what I can find. I actually get this error once a day or so on other sites while killing time at work. As with everybody here, if I wait a minute or so and press refresh it goes away.RobbyPants wrote:ERROR 502 - BAD GATEWAY
I'll poke around a bit...
You can't fix stupid.

Search by author doesn't seem to get more than 1 page (I get "No topics or posts met your search criteria" on clicking 2, 3 or any other number) for particularly prolific posters, i.e. FrankTrollman (25748), Prak (15246), Koumei (12196), Kaelik (10737), Lago PARANOIA (10109), Ancient History (9643) and Avoraciopoctules (8456) (It's over eight thousaaaand?). It does seem to work for Maxus (7458) and anyone else with fewer posts than him.

If you go back to page 16, you can see that this a persistent problem. There is some specific URL you can type in as a work around, but I don't know the appropriate conversion for anyone besides myself (It was done for me on page 16.)radthemad4 wrote:Search by author doesn't seem to get more than 1 page (I get "No topics or posts met your search criteria" on clicking 2, 3 or any other number) for particularly prolific posters, i.e. FrankTrollman (25748), Prak (15246), Koumei (12196), Kaelik (10737), Lago PARANOIA (10109), Ancient History (9643) and Avoraciopoctules (8456) (It's over eight thousaaaand?). Found it. Thanks.schpeelah wrote:Specifically, the problem is that the site doesn't retain that data. Notice that the URL of the first page contains what you were searching for, but on subsequent it's the ID of the search. Using search.php?search_author=Kaelik&start=(25 per page) lets you go subsequent pages.

Peculiar properties of spacetime ensure that the perception of the magnitude of Soon is fluid and dependent, not on an individual's time-reference, but on spatial and cultural location. A marketer generally perceives Soon as a finite, known, yet unspeakable time-interval; to a fan, the interval appears greater, and may in fact approach the infinite, becoming Never. Once the interval has passed, however, a certain time-lensing effect seems to occur, and the time-interval becomes vanishingly small. We therefore see the strange result that the same fragment of spacetime may be observed, in quick succession, as Soon, Never, and All Too Quickly.

When I click and read a thread, the thread directly above it on the forum list is marked as read in addition to the one I actually read. First noticed last night, still going on this morning.

I, too, an continuously getting 502 errors, repeatedly, right now. I had to try six times just to get to this damn thread. Does something need to be glued back into place of something?
And just now posting this, I got a page saying "405 Not Allowed"! Jesus, are we under attack or something?!

When I try to access the The World of Future Darkness OSSR at http://tgdmb.com/viewtopic.php?t=57149, I get this warning:

Win7x64 with all patches, Chrome Version 69.0.3497.100 (Official Build) (64-bit). It doesn't matter if I go as logged user or anonymous or using incognito tabs. Cleared the cache and everything, no change. With Firefox however, it works fine.
While it is probably something on my end, I post it here just in case.

The first picture in the OSSR (the cover of Night's Edge) is hosted at a free ebook download site that Google Safe Browsing hates.
got IP blocked while not even signed in.
wonder if related to:
1) intermittently refreshing throughout the day
2) connecting through a VPN
3) [hell if I know]
anybody else have this happen? guesses what it could be?
(changed vpn connection; seems fine ... for now)

okay, how about more specific detail?
remember, not signed in and got the following white screen message:
"Access denied. Your IP address [192.200.24.30] is blacklisted. If you feel this is in error please contact your hosting providers abuse department."
what is this even?

Connecting through a VPN has caused me problems on other sites. I have never had problems with it on this one, though.
My son makes me laugh. Maybe he'll make you laugh, too.
If you're connecting through a VPN, it's very possible that someone has used one of the IP addresses belonging to your VPN to attempt a DDoS or other attack on a site hosted by the entity that owns the web servers for the Den. Connections are probably refused from that IP for any and all websites hosted by that entity.
If fbmf literally has the tgdmb server in his basement or something then this would be something he could control. I don't think that's the case, though, so I would just say "don't use that IP to try to connect to tgdmb because it's not gonna work."

that's kinda sorta what i suspected; just wasn't sure. makes total sense though.Mord wrote:If you're connecting through a VPN, it's very possible that someone has used one of the IP addresses belonging to your VPN to attempt a DDoS or other attack on a site hosted by the entity that owns the web servers for the Den. my settings auto-connect to fastest server connection. i'll just have to remember this particular one and route around it.
(but now it's noted for anyone else who has a similar problem)
