Peculiar properties of spacetime ensure that the perception of the magnitude of Soon is fluid and dependent, not on an individual's time-reference, but on spatial and cultural location. A marketer generally perceives Soon as a finite, known, yet unspeakable time-interval; to a fan, the interval appears greater, and may in fact approach the infinite, becoming Never. Once the interval has passed, however, a certain time-lensing effect seems to occur, and the time-interval becomes vanishingly small. We therefore see the strange result that the same fragment of spacetime may be observed, in quick succession, as Soon, Never, and All Too Quickly.
I hear you. It was like 4 hours after I normally go to sleep that I realized I had enjoyed 0 minutes of the game and uninstalled it. Paradox makes absolutely shit games that don't let you do anything, but they do make you think you're enjoying yourself until you try to think of a single example.Stahlseele wrote:uuurg . . the horrible mixture of crack and cocaine and powderes sugar that is stellaris got me again with the federations DLC . .

Don't worry, Spiffing broke Federations before it even released.

I'm not fully convinced. It's a bit similar to how I got ahead in my early game. Sure it's useful at the beginning, but it doesn't break the whole game. The light infantry doomstacks tend to get destroyed quickly once you start facing opponents with big armies and better troops. As soon as the melee phase start, your doomstack gets wiped out. Not to mention the attrition, especially in the North and East of the map.Count Arioch the 28th wrote:Gonna leave this hereBlade wrote:I'm still having fun with Crusader Kings 2.

Retinues are great, I always max out mines, but you don't break the game just by having a big retinue.

Spiff's Elder Scrolls videos are better in my opinion because the stuff he shows in them actually does break the game completely and not in certain scenarios. I still enjoy his videos, and have actually bought games he showcased to try out myself.

The Spiffing Brit... I've watched some of his Civ6 videos, and now basically try to use the super faith/science exploit every play, but I get this very... iunno, soft right wing vibe from him? I haven't encountered anything particularly explicitly right wing/alt-right in his videos, and maybe it's just a smarm thing, where he sounds very similar to a lot of explicitly right wing types on YouTube, but... He comes off very suspect.
Anyway, Ubisoft is offering Child of Light for free until the 28th. Ostensibly you don't have to boot up UPlay, but... I did have to, so, just do it, even if it's yet another goddamned steam-wannabe with shit UI

He's very pro-colonial and pro-empire, but I don't know how much is his persona and how much is actually him. Personally I don't care enough for it to matter, if he doesn't sperg out about politics he can believe what he likes in real life.

Count, please, don't use autism and related words in a derogatory or negative fashion. It's just so unnecessary and easy to fix.

I'm sick of this conversation. Unless you have a direct order from the Fence Builder Himself, no.Prak wrote:Count, please, don't use autism and related words in a derogatory or negative fashion. It's just so unnecessary and easy to fix.

If you're sick of the conversation, have you perhaps considered modifying your behaviour so it doesn't come up?

Seconding the idea of avoiding doing a thing if you don't want to be called out on doing it.
...
Ok, so trying Skyrim again, this time as a Bosmer stealth archer and doing smithing and alchemy instead of smithing and enchanting, and less weird mods (for now).
Things are going alright until the Battle for Whiterun, whereupon I open the drawbridge (which is sometimes already open), go into the town and it doesn't realise it's under siege. Apparently, this is a known bug, and reloading from a previous save can fix it, but my previous save is 6 levels back. Fast travelling to Ulric is supposed to sometimes skip the battkem but doesn';t work for me. Sigh.

I just started playing Circadian Dice, a dice builder (like a deck builder, but more streamlined) rpg.
Each die has 6 sides, which are different based on your class. Generally your first 2 dice are just 1 attack, 1 defense, 1 money, 1 gem (used to activate special powers), and probably another 1 attack. You can spend money to replace 2 sides of a die with 2 sides from the store to upgrade. Because the die is set up in a 2x3 grid, there is some amount on puzzle-iness to this process, and making sure you don't entirely run out of one symbol. You gain extra dice by hitting levels 3 and 5, and gain xp by spending money to upgrade dice.
You get 2 rerolls per turn, which allows you to overcome a bad roll, or push your luck and chance making an okay roll into either a good or bad roll. A successful run against one area of the campaign takes less than 30 minutes, so it's a good way to pass the time between other activities. As you progress, you unlock better equipment and more classes, and it looks like you'll need to play with all of the classes to unlock all of the best equipment. That means I probably won't ever beat the game, but I'll get a lot of hours of entertainment out of it.
The splash screen art is slightly janky looking, but everything else looks good.

New Nintendo mini-direct.
Starts with disclaimer that due to COVID-19 things getting delayed and plans may change.
Bravely Default II demo out (gotta love that Nintendo only shows gameplay footage when they have actual gameplay ready), ports of all the Bioshocks, Mechanicus, X-Com 2, Katherine (yes, the sony ex-exclusive game about cheating on your girlfriend), Jedi Academy with MP plus a bunch other stuff.
Some cute urban ninja team battle Splatoon style that'll be F2P.
Also first Smash character of the 2nd Fighter's Pass will be somebody from Arms. Guess it makes sense for the actual original IP fighting franchise from Nintendo to get actual representation on Nintendo's most popular fighting franchise. Rumors that Arms 2 may be on its way.
Alas no Metroid 4/Bayonetta 3.

Had to read Count's post multiple times and this seems to be the only candidate.
And regardles of the vocabulary it sounded more descriptive to me than insulting.
How easily are Denners insulted nowadays?
Sad day.

Because, you dick, there's a difference between insulting someone, or telling someone of, say, go fuck yourself, and using language which promotes and reinforces negative stereotypes. Just as you shouldn't describe someone who is stingy or miserly with terms which rely on negative stereotypes of Jewish people, you should not describe someone who is out of control or ranting in terms which rely on stereotypes of people on the autism spectrum.Korwin wrote:I am assuming sperg has something to do with autism?Prak wrote:Count, please, don't use autism and related words in a derogatory or negative fashion. It's the difference between calling someone an Australian comma (outside of America where that's much more gendered) and calling them a British slang term for cigarette.
