I do, in fact, also see it when I'm in, for example, this thread. The connection just isn't secure.

Update: the "index.php" home page works again, and while there are still consistent "connection not secure" warnings throughout the site, the symbol is a padlock with a warning triangle instead of a padlock crossed out in red.

wait no, it's switched back - the symbol is the crossed out padlock again & the index.php link redirects to the error page

Forgotten password link is broken, so I made a new account to report it. Also tried the email an admin link, but not sure that's monitored anymore.

You can PM me from your new account and provide the user name you'd like unlocked. I may have other questions but we can give you a temporary password to unlock the old account. Once you're in you can update to one that only you know.

All through yesterday I couldn't access the site, getting a (IIRC), 429 user submitting too many requests.

It seems to be working for me on mobile, but not on PC. I’m working with support to figure it out, but this is a painful process

It looks like it's working for me again on both phone and PC. Hopefully that means that support got it solved.

Bluehost support is almost fucking useless. Because the 429 “too many requests” issue appears to be resolved, they’re blaming the phpbb software for the page not loading correctly in some (most?) cases.

I’ll be reaching out to phpbb support next, but I don’t know how quickly that’ll help. Stay tuned, I guess. I’m mostly out of my element here, so it’s a slow and painful process.

Are there any plans to have a further word with Bluehost? I got hit with several “too many requests” errors over the past few days, and today’s “this account got suspended” screen is obviously scary.

Bluehost has taken action to reduce the 'too many requests' issues - I've seen them, too, but I haven't had any problems with connecting after a single refresh. Still, it would be nice if that is solved, so I've asked fbmf to ask. The suspended issue was unrelated. Just for the sake of alleviating any fears the automatic billing information on file needed updating (new credit card expiration date). Bluehost isn't always good about communicating issues in a timely fashion.
