Seriously, I'm not saying that to be facetious, I honestly don't remember anything being mentioned about the other side of Krynn.
They put out a box set that went into a fair amount of detail on 20 or so different countries. They had gnomes who weren't inept, a society of minotaurs that more or less resemble the Roman Republic, cursed evil dragons (the ones on Taladas refused to help in the Ansolon Dragon Armies, so the Dark Queen messed them up: The Reds utter cowards, the Whites couldn't talk etc.), and a whole bunch of other stuff I'm blanking on.

Diablo II didn't feature auto-scaling monsters. I don't think Diablo I did either, though that's older.
my bad.
This is worth a good laugh... Pain medication inspired classes
especially the Kobold Mama, Kobold Runt, and Mothers Against Dungeon Delvers classes.

You should gain sanity for finding out that the problems of a region are because there are fucking monsters there.
Hey, the swordmage looks like it might have interesting abilities.
Also, there's some kind of level 25 wraith striker in the MM. Does a maximum of 2d10+3d6+9 damage. The ability to reduce its damage by 15 + Con mod is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. And it demonstrates yet another failure of 4e.

Of course, no marking power really scales well. It's just like the other at-wills and class features. The interesting thing is that the ability to use some encounter powers in conjunction with your marks. By at least giving you more options with the mark as you go up in level, they can keep it from becoming irrelevant.

On the other hand... the tarrasque does d12 +16. ]ngaging it with a single melee tank while everybody else blasts and heals is an absurdly obvious tactic. If you can mark it at range [easily done by multiclassing with wizard) and subtract 15+ Con Mod (say, for example, 7, which is easily done at that level), you're negating almost all its damage on average rolls. It will regularly do 2 points to the tank.
And thats fucking sad.

The issue is that you're not understanding a fundamental reality, which is that 4e's powers are no more reptitive than other games', and are considerably less so than most.
Take for instance the fighter. He has attack powers, multiple attack powers, attacks against multiple foes powers, move and attack powers, attack powers which inflict status ailments, attack powers which heal the fighter, non-attack powers which heal the fighter, attack powers which move foes, attack powers which penalize or restrict foes' movement, attack powers which always deal damage, attack powers which are more accurate but less deadly, attack powers which are less accurate but more deadly, powers which enhance the fighters' other attack powers, powers which make allies harder to hit, powers which deal continous damage to nearby foes...
That's a pretty long list of possibilities, and it is incomplete, as the fighter has other things as well which I didn't list. I'm not seeing how this is unusually repetitive.

I like how less than half of those weren't attack powers that had a crappy or short-term side effect.

I cannot see it either... keeps giving some sort of error message about how I don't have cookies turn on.
Did they finally go and make Insider pay only even though it's still missing 80% of its content or something.
Let me guess what they suggested though... A high dex/int(low wisdom) eldrin wand wizard with magic missile and scorching burst for his at wills that picks up the fighter multiclass feat and then sets his other bonus feats on fire to get godplate armor, then later on they suggest taking the dualclass option crap instead of an actual paragon path.

Then they sit around maximizing the teleport distances they can trigger at irregular intervals. At 21st level she can recover spent teleports when she scores a critical hit! God damnit, I don't care. She's teleporting 35 feet! This doesn't even cover my parent's yard.
FrankTrollman wrote:They are trying to make a "warrior wizard." A feypact warlock who fights with a pact blade.
There are two characters in the PDF. The first is a max-teleport character. The second is the "warrior wizard": fighter, with wizard multiclass feats, the sword-wielding paragon path, and the Eternal Seeker epic destiny.

Once THAT gets fixed, THEN we'll be seeing a massive drop in power barring dubious rules interpretations, and if those DRIs are cleared up, then we'll be left with mostly fair stuff. Until another book comes out.
I would like for all of the issues to be fixed, though.
Though level 30 is horribly broken thanks to the demigod level 30 power, which does break the game in half and really should not exist, and even with my interpretation (as encounter power = encounter attack power) infinite loops and trivial stun locks exist.

Actually Paragon multiclassing isn't complete crap. I'm fond of Fighter-> Cleric for Righteous Brand. It's that good. Paladins and Warlords can do the same, though they already have healing, so the other cleirc powers are less exciting.
Fighter -> Rogue for Riposte strike is also decent. Damned if you do or don't.
No, my post boils down to "Power attack isn't a power". It doesn't change your attack and there is a mathematically optimal amount for which you power attack. Its not a choice and it isn't a different power.
You don't understand this, apparently. In short:
If it doesn't encourage you to do something different (and it doesn't, because it just adds on to your normal attack) then it isn't a seperate ability.

Houserules to substitute for 4e's lack of non-combat skills rapidly devolves into circlejerking and failonomics:
NPCs obivously don't have to follow the same rules as adventurers though. There really no problem with the economy as it is now as long as you understand that these rules only apply to adventurers.
Further, exception based design and yearly installments means that'll be little reason for a 4.5, so you can stop that now.
Roughly translated:
Just handwave the stupidity of 4economics. Also, errata will be released annually at the cost of $30 per installment.

The 4E magic item economy is stupid, but not really because of the stuff people are talking about in that thread. I mean, actually getting 10% - 20% commission on an expensive magic item is damn profitable. Even 5% is awesome.
Considering that:
-Making magic items now takes you like 1 hour per item, regardless of how expensive.
-Magic items no longer cost XP.
So getting 5% of the market price of a 500,000 gp item in a single day is incredible. You're earning 25,000 gp for an hours work at no risk or loss to yourself.
Of course, nobody would really pay wizards to enchant stuff. Not when you can save the money and just buy your own scroll. Sure you're paying like 1000 gp for the scroll or whatever, but that's nothing compared to the 5-10% commission you'd have to pay to have someone else do it.
