Movies Which Make Us Laugh, Cry, or Both

Post by Maxus »

Hey, why not have a thread to discuss movie interests in general?

I guess I'll start this by talking about my own interests...

My movie tastes are litte all over the place. I don't like gory movies, though, and I'm always game for a Mel Brooks comedy and can laugh my head off at a Leslie Nielson comedy.

My favorite movie I've seen recently is Kung Fu Panda, which was a very pleasant surprise, given my low expectations from the trailers. I'm also looking forward to getting The Dark Knight tomorrow.

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

--The horror of Mario

Zak S, Zak Smith, Dndwithpornstars, Zak Sabbath. He is a terrible person and a hack at writing and art. His cultural contributions are less than Justin Bieber's, and he's a shitmuffin. Go go gadget Googlebomb!

Tropic Thunder was a good first viewing but didn't hold up as well to a second. Tom Cruise fucking stole the show, which considering I think he should be shot, is a massive commendation
The internet gave a voice to the world thus gave definitive proof that the world is mostly full of idiots.

Yeah, I saw Tropic Thunder. Back when it was called The three Amigos.
In this moment, I am Ur-phoric. Not because of any phony god’s blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my int score.

In Bruges really kicked the shit outta me. That Farell guy usually just pisses me off, with his crap acting all over the place, but he was well under the control of the director. The story was also impressive.

Hancock was what could have been two awesome stories jammed together to make one mediocre story. The first reel was great, and the concept - jerkass superpowered guy finds out what it is to be a true hero - is a solid plot, but then it gets all complicated. The entire second storyline should have been held back for a sequel or a totally separate movie.

Y'know, that's the best explanation for that film I've heard yet. I agree completely.
