Likely the current Backstreet Boys (if you happen to know who those were ...). I wonder, is any additional information relevant or interesting? :P

If Wikipedia is to be believed, they're a boy band made up of three brothers; it's supposed to be super family-friendly, with the brothers wearing purity rings and touting their religious, home-schooled upbringing.
He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Zak S, Zak Smith, Dndwithpornstars, Zak Sabbath. He is a terrible person and a hack at writing and art. His cultural contributions are less than Justin Bieber's, and he's a shitmuffin. Go go gadget Googlebomb!

I didn't know either. But more amusingly, last time he asked that, it was about Joe the Plumber ...

Actually, I think it was about Twilight.

"Who", not "what".

Man, that was crappy ... and asking about Twilight had consequences no less awesome.

I thought it used to be "his children". But the Internet's highly desirable as well, since it includes everything possible to think about in pictorial form.

The Jonas Brothers are better musicians than the backstreet boys, but I still won't seek them out.

Hey. I liked the Backstreet Boys. My first year of college, they weren't popular yet and they played at the local high school (in Indiana). I snagged some of their music. When it became popular a year or so later, I got the CD and found that I already had the songs (albeit on tape).

Britney was the same way. She was playing on Canadian radio before she released her first single in the US. So I walked into my local music store and tried to look her up, but her CD wasn't available. The owner even told me that she was probably a Canadian singer - which explained why he couldn't get the single, or even found out much about her. Six months later, turns out she was from Louisiana.

We get Italian music videos here in my actual flat, and Central Euro-MTV down the hill at the neighborhood bar. Italian music channels play some international stuff, so I'm aware of Madcon's videos about taking a bunch of weed and LSD and playing HALO until you can't physically stay awake anymore. And I see Amy MacDonald's declaration that her friends get so drunk that they can't figure out how to get back into their house at 4 in the morning. And I see Katy Perry's song about how she's such a crazy girlfriend that she will have Lipstick Lesbians beat you up and then feel bad about it. And so on. RTL plays a lot more classics than you'd think, so we get Madonna from back when she was hot, and Dire Straights and such like that. Unfortunately, I also get The Script whining about how he is going to make his ex-girlfriend come back to him by becoming a hobo. Sometimes we're even subjected to The Bravery. Fucking emo bullshit.

But mostly I get actual stuff from Italy. Like Ayane singing about how she has a bunch of little Roman men in tight tennis outfits. Or RAF singing about how he is going to woo Lady Amaretsu by building a wicked sweet cardboard box fort. Or Negrita singing about how they like to take their kids to the amusement park.

Central Europe MTV also plays crap like Pimp My Ride. Euro-Pimp My Ride is lame, because it's based out of the UK and there are apparently strong rules about what bullshit you can do to a car. So they don't really do anything interesting. On the plus side, they also play music videos, so you can see stuff like Armand van Helden's "Shake That Ass" - which is about as cool a video as you can make with a camcorder and a bunch of young women in their underwear in their own apartments.

When I was in Mozambique in 2003, the most popular english language bands (not including Bob Marley and Celine Dion who are the official bands of all of sub saharan Africa) were Scorpion, Brian Adams, Roxette and Dire Straits. And other than latin stuff, that was all you heard.
The internet gave a voice to the world thus gave definitive proof that the world is mostly full of idiots.

In Egypt, they had MTV Arabia on cable. (I did not realize that they allowed females to dress that way.) It didn't play any international videos.
