So a friend loaned me Assassin's Creed after he finished it. (I gave him a PS3 as a gift and that was one of the games he bought. I never bothered to pick it up for 360.)

I have to say that the cities are pretty. And stealth-stabbing dudes never gets old. The pushy beggars and 'you farted wrong' guards are troublesome. But it does give a bit of a rush when I get chased halfway across the city before I manage to lose my pursuers.

Since you said Beggars instead of Minstrels, I know that's one not two.

I recommend two if you at all enjoyed one.

It's weird, but it's basically the same game, except everything is better for some reason.

And the cities are more numerous and more awesome.

And you get to RPG grind money to get better stuff and upgrade your base, but it's super easy, and then you have infinite money.

That's precisely why I didn't bother buying the first game myself. By the time I had time/interest, 2 was out and I heard from Yahtzee and others that it was basically the first one with upgrades. So once I get around to it, I'll pick up the second for cheap and enjoy that one. Or my friend will buy it and loan it to me. :) Infinite money? Sounds like Fable all over again.

Assassin's Creed two and a rash of similar games out at the moment all are one player games that state "Must be connected to the internet at all times while playing this game".

And they are SINGLE player games. That is fucking draconian DRM bullshit right there, and often associated with either Steam, or Steam like bullshit.

Those games will only ever get my cash by TRICKING me. Which steam games often do by NOT blatantly noting the fact on the exterior packaging. But those ones do so FUCK THEM.

Fuck, seriously? It pisses me off when I take my 360 overseas and can't play any of my downloaded content because we don't have fucking internet. I doubt I'll ever be in that position with my PS3, but fuck. What a pisser.

TOZ, that doesn't apply at all to Consoles. It's a PC thing only.

I've never connected my Console to the internet in my fucking life, and I still played the game.

That's good then. But it does apply if you ever, ever, fucking ever connect to Xbox Live. You want to download new tracks for Rockband/Guitar Hero? Better stay plugged in, or you won't get anything but the disc tracks.

Thinking about it, it might just be because I transferred all my data to a new 360 when the first one red-ringed. If it was the original console I created my account on I might not have that problem. Oh well.

yeah, the 360 is definitely douchey like that.

There was this amazing downloadable game called Castle crashers for the 360. IT works best as a multiplayer side scroller. If it's not connected to the net, you lose the full version along with your massively built upon characters.

I don't think we had that problem with Rock Band on the PS3.

It was probably that since I don't have to keep my 360 online to access my downloaded songs, all I need is to load the profile I purchased them on.

Speaking of 360 downloads, I been playing Breath of Death VII. It was a fun RPG. It was pretty funny too. It had a fast battle system and things really made grind not a pain in the ass. The main problem I had with the game was the cluttered maps it just got more and more ridiculous with each major dungeon in the game. Still it was well worth the dollar I paid for it.

I've received a number of spoofed emails asking for my World of Warcraft account login in the past week. I don't know why they're so adamant about it, I closed my account two years ago myself. But I figured I'd let people know in case it wasn't old news.

No, it's just a PC thing. Ubisoft doesn't understand the PC at all.

I had closed my WOW account a long time ago and then I got an email a while back saying that my account was frozen permanently for being a goldfarmer (not those exact words but still.)

After a string of emails trying to at least get my my acct back in case I want to play again, I was told that cheaters don't get their accounts back. So yeah, no matter how much fun wow was, I decided that I can not play the game because these fuckers don't know how to listen and look at logical evidence...

Generally it's usually not that hard to get your account back after it's been stolen.

It's annoying, sure, but not impossible. It usually involves a phone call, unfortunately.

So, I'm playing Spore again. I have managed to be at war with a local interstellar empire in space stage (again). However, I've put in some 9-10 hours into space stage and although I don't have many warlike tools and weapons, I am in a much better position to fight back (have terraformed 7-8 planets into T2 or T3, am gaining literally 200+ spice an hour on planets that hold 20 or so :bored: )

What is the best way to end a war? I only have Warmonger I badge so my weapons are limited, and attacking the enemy homeworld is not working at the moment, and any ally I've befriended died real quick in any non-pirate fight. I have the Knight persona.

Hey, my sister says she wants to play something new. her necessities are:

-plot-driven. something like okami or odin sphere.

-some grind is okay, but not excessive rpg grind.

-simple gameplay. Nothing much past zelda/okami

-for ps2 or gamecube or wii.

-games we have are...odin sphere, okami, tales of symphonia, zeldas, final fantasy x, shadow of the colossus

-what tales games are on the ps2?

-this finger is throwing my typing off.
He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Abyss and Legendia IIRC. Abyss is the better one, Legendia has many laughably stupid moments.

Atelia Iris (1 and 2) for PS2 are good. They're RPGs without much grind needed (not including the post-game arena for AI2), they're fun to play, and in the first one, you can forget all about the plot and go run someone's bakery for them.

That said, you may want a walkthrough to get all the best alchemy recipes, and I suppose the alchemy aspect might be a little bit complex... then again, if Odin Sphere is okay it should be fine.

Loving the hell out of Red Alert 3 right now. It's amazing in its sheer embracing of all the stereotypes and tropes that make it hilarious, particularly where the Soviet Union is concerned. Being of Russian birth myself, I find this endlessly funny.

Also loving Fallout 3, mostly because of how moddable it is. You can seriously make that game do almost whatever you want, and the way you play it is so open to different approaches, it makes me extremely happy. May well end up buying New Vegas, too.

Picked up Assassins Creed 2. They seem to have improved on every bit of the game. Totally awesome. Punching minstrels is very satisfying.

So I recently got a GameCube for cheap. I currently have RE4, Metroid Prime, and two versions of OoT (Master's Quest and one with Majora's Mask).

What's a list of games I should get? Currently on list:
- Eternal Darkness
- Other RE ports

I sort of enjoyed Phantasy Star for Borg Cube. Get four controllers in and play with a group of friends, possibly while drunk.

Mostly we trolled each other, with the mage tagging all enemies with a fireball (thus getting a share of the XP when they die) then running to the treasure (thus getting ALL the treasure) while everyone else fought the monsters.

I recommend Ico, Mana Khemia, Suikoden 5, Arc the Lad: twilight of the spirits, and Dark cloud 2.

PS2 Tales titles:
Legendia
Abyss
Rebirth

-Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance was pretty good.

I found Tales of Symphonia to be very VERY boring and I found the characters to be mostly unlikeable. Sonic Adventure 2 I just didn't like as a whole. At most I temporarily enjoyed the Sonic/Shadow stages but that's it not worth spending 5 dollars on for the rental.

I think Powerstone was out for the game cube and its worth a look see if you like that kind of thing. Paper Mario is a must have.

Edit: So I don't have to double post. Considering playing Runes of Magic. Why should/n't this happen?
