They're offended at being given the ads and asked to host them.

I think they're making a bit of a scene about it, but it would be like putting pig on a postcard sent out to a Jewish community, or a golden calf sent to a Christian group or a dance song sent to Baptists.

It was supposed to be a community building exercise, and the cards are not attractive to a major group in the community. Muslims - like many religions - have many irrational things they do.

Generally, this id covered under public accommodation whereby if you provide a public service, you are not permitted to intentionally or unintentionally discriminate against a protected class.

In the case of taxi drivers, the reason they're licensed is that transportation is in the public interest to be safe and open to all. So their licenses can be pulled if they refuse transport of a legal passenger & cargo.

I like the 'must remain there'. That actively means they cannot take another fare, the worst fate for a hack. It's a pretty fair decision, they get to do it, but have to have the consequences. No eat and cake.

They don't have to transport people covered in feces, either, or ones who are threatening or harassing the cabbies, either, you know.

Many Somalis are not Arabs, or fundamentalist Muslims, hence the different attitudes. The pirates are pirating because they have no other form in industry, they can't be picky on the job. They might be very pious and not drink, but...

...Also, dogs are allowed to guard things, as noted earlier. It's like how Christians didn't use to make loans or debts on margin, left that to minorities without that restriction. (Then of course, hated them for having that very advantage).

Yeah, that is what I liked about it too. Sicne he doesn't want to do his job for someone with a service dog, then he has to lose other potential customers, and tips.

Maybe they could give free cruises tot he blind and each ship have it's own service dog per blind person. Then they are not gaurd dogs, if the seeing impaired are not recognized as able to have them oin a taxi...?

Contrary to what they might blather on about themselves on a daily basis, almost every mainstream media outlet has a conservative bias. This has to do with the fact that 1) most of them are owned by corporations, who are in turn aligned with the Republican Party and 2) the mainstream media is rapidly losing viewers and readers to "new media" and feels that the best way to stay alive is to appeal to the consumers that have no desire to embrace the new media. These consumers tend to be old, racist, conservative white people. Prosecutors are generally protected from actions taken in the course of their duties.

I would argue that framing people is not one of their duties.

Prosecutors need to not be susceptible to law suits just because the defendant is found innocent. The last thing we need is prosecutors being afraid to even bring a case against people with access to effective legal representation.

But framing someone is a big deal. It's criminal. The thing is that the government shouldn't be afraid to prosecute its own people for corruption when they engage in corruption. By sticking by those douchebags the government has bought itself a situation where the civil court is hearing a case where a ruling for the defendant or the plaintiff would be a horrible precedent.

Remember: justice against people in power may seem like it's kicking over the apple cart, but in reality it is Revolution Insurance. If you don't throw enough of the egregious cases to the mob, the mob will start taking people at random. The US has been too stable for too long and it has forgotten this fact. Ultimately it will be our downfall as a nation.

Let me explain why gay marriage doesn't affect non-gay men and women.

For men, two gay men means less competition for women. two gay women means maybe you could get a 3-some, or maybe watch them if you want.

For women, two gay men means you aren't missing anything because they want penis. If you aren't getting enough, then you are doing something wrong anyway. two gay women means less competition for men.

So gay marriage is NOT a problem. It makes the field of competition for a mate of the opposite sex smaller you you get a better chance.

Aside form the fact he was dead,....yeah after only 10 days DOES say something about our health care system.

Hey you have been out of the hospital for 10 days now, so where is our overcharged fees at?

I hadn't had time to think about that yet, by still being appalled at the fact of the actual telling of the deceased not to return to the hospital.

The only thing that could have made this worse...if possible, would have been him being an organ donor, and parts of him WERE still in the hospital!

The parents would likely have gotten a bill for upkeep on the organs like refrigeration and such.

Who the fuck can come up with $30k after 10 days of leaving the ER?

This was the school hospital too right?

UC, as in University of California?

So this is what they are teaching up and coming physicians?

This is why we cannot have nice health care services!
