The wizard would win.

The fully optimized fighter didn't waste ranks on some conditional thing like swimming and was busy cross class skilling his limited supply for spot/listen/tumble. He also has a big giant swim penalty from his heavy armour and other heavy junk. He arguably sinks.

The wizard has water breathing at at least 10 hours duration from level 5. He cast it before being tied and drugged up. Some might complain at his casting it then, but he is prepared to forgo all actions during the "combat" in return.

The "pro-Fighter" people would literally consider that to be biased in favor of the Wizard. Seriously, any scenario in which the Wizard has ever cast a spell in his life is unacceptable to those fuckers.

He shits you not. They are just about the most intellectually dishonest fuckers on the planet. I'm not entirely certain how that level of cognitive dissonance can coexist with the ability to form coherent sentences. (cf. itwasntme)

Wow, I just realized that I'm feeling really profane right now. Fuck fuckety fuck fuck fuck. Jyeah, baby.

Oh, and thanks for jumping into the Arcane Strike fray. I didn't feel capable of rendering a civil reply to the contention that his highly contrived situation has any bearing on anything at all, whatsoever.

I've seen one 7th level wizard with Sudden Silent who kept Dimension Door prepped all the time, and I've played a 9th level wizard who frequently had Silent Dimension Door prepped. Both had rather twinked Concentration skills, and could probably have sucessfully made concentration DCs to cast assuming that "drugged up" doesn't mean "totally unconscious".

I've only ever seen one fighter type to have a swim skill of +10 or better, and that was more due to strength twinking than to being prepared for underwater combat.
"But transportation issues are social-justice issues. The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."

However, their Fighters would have max ranks in swim, a weapon usable underwater, a ring of water breathing, freedom of movement, and whatever else they needed. The Wizard would have to drown, because "OH NOES HE DOSNT NO HE NEEDZ DIMENSION DOOR!!!!!!!!!"

These are the same people that, if you gave Fighters an ability like Have Equipment Appropriate to the Encounter, they'd probably say it was imba.

But, with these "hypothetical" situations, they always assume that every Fighter on the friggin planet has that ability usable at 1st level.

Well, I don't know, I see this argument go both ways. There are so many times that I see wizard people claim that their wizard always has the proper contingency activated for like whatever the other guy might do.

I mean... does any wizard actually have a contingency to instantly teleport back to base if he's attacked? I see that used on the boards so often it's crazy.

That's why you research Nap and gain 7 hours per day.

Creating an item requires one day per 1,000 gp in the item’s base price, with a minimum of at least one day.

No reason this requires you to work for 8 hours. Or 16. Or more than a half an hour tinkering.

Wizards have plenty of time to play cleric and penitent with the local wenches.

Local Wenches or Altar Boys/ Cute Wizard Apprentices. There's a difference. I think sorcerers get the best of the wenches (you know, the sensitive types).

Of all the deities associated with WoTC, which one is most likely to have pedophile clerics?

That's pedarasty, Weir, not pedophilia.

Oh, and the answer is the priests of the Greek gods.

Gotta be, how else can you explain this "If you want more proof, we can look at the world's only real life bird/mammal hybrid, the duck billed platypus, and they excrete like mammals, not birds."
