Character Builder, Virtual Tabletop Question

Does anyone know if WotC uses the character builder as a way to do gather information? They could see what characters are made, and what characters may be actually played (those who get regular updates), and what builds are done.

That could be a very useful tool for balancing and adjusting of rules.

So probably not, and if they do, they'll end up doing it spectacularly wrong somehow.
