Was just curious about people's opinion on this Cleric prestige class from Five Nations. I've heard it was good, but a quick google search didn't really show me any details as to *why* people felt this way.
On a quick glance, I see that it grants a lot of attractive immunities. On the other hand, you lose a caster level, and have to invest in otherwise unattractive skills. Also, the other abilities besides the immunities don't immediately seem terribly attractive, including things like needing to craft your own armor/weapons, and having it get permanently attached to you. However, I feel like I'm missing something. Admittedly, those immunities are pretty attractive on their own, but I figured I'd ask since I have this nagging sense.
K's necromancy guide mentions it only offhandedly saying "You could start investing cross class into Ride to eventually get into Bone Knight I suppose." as advice for a first level cleric. But never mentions Bone Knight again.
So, what are your thoughts?
And as a side note, what are good things to channel with the Ordained Champion's Channel Spell?

Ok, so... the ability's called "Paladin Conversion," but you don't actually get to convert paladin levels, right? Or am I missing something in my skimming?

You should gain sanity for finding out that the problems of a region are because there are fucking monsters there.
Bone Knight kinda sucks in that you burn a caster level, but he does get an animate dead-type effect that doesn't need you to spend gold, so for someone who wants to be a dedicated necromancer that means something.
Honestly, PrCs for Necromancers in published products are terrible about 95% of the time. That's why we started writing the Tomes, and even then I'll admit our concepts are extremely narrow.
