Where do people find their's? I've been getting a lot from Meh.ro and Bordom.net lately, with also a good number of RPG demots saved for occasional use.
Cuz apparently I gotta break this down for you dense motherfuckers- I'm trans feminine nonbinary. My pronouns are they/them.

Really, I used to get mine from flickr and deviantart. I have also used many creative commons wallpapers. But these days, I find an image that I like and have it centered with an outside color that suits it.

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Zak S, Zak Smith, Dndwithpornstars, Zak Sabbath. He is a terrible person and a hack at writing and art. His cultural contributions are less than Justin Bieber's, and he's a shitmuffin. Go go gadget Googlebomb!

I usually just type in "abstract art" and sometimes "desktop" and within ten minutes I have something unique and not terribly distracting.

I'm fond of using xkcd comics.

I occasionally browse DeviantArt, but I more often find something directly or indirectly from various forums.

At work, I just have various pictures of my daughter, and my current desktop at home are two sketches I made of the dread necromancer I'm currently playing. So, I haven't "found" any desktop pictures for a while now.

Call me old-fashioned, but I stick to landscapes.

This one comes with Vista:

This one is from National Geographic:

I tend to flick through http://nik.bot.nu/browse.fu every now and then. Huge number of wallpapers, the NSFW images are by default off but are available should you want them, and you can limit the images to just your screen size.

I then pick black backgrounds with some cool/interesting/pretty image, then stick several in a folder and have my desktop background swap between them every minute or so. Although to be honest most of the time I have a window taking up the whole screen so a background is visible only when booting up or shutting down.

I get all my walls from http://wallbase.net/. It's great for searching by color and screen size. However, make sure to check the search settings before you search for anything/hit the toplist. It scrapes all its walls from the 4chan wallpaper boards, so there's plenty of NSFW content that you may wish to avoid.

Mostly my Kodak Easy Share.

My current desktop is a photo of the Bahia Honda Bridge on the Florida Keys I snapped a few weeks ago on my Christmas vacation in Key West.

Here is a smaller image of it I used for a Gather article.

Image

It looks cool on my double monitor when the laptop is docked at work. I have the icons down the left, a clock on the upper right with times for New York, London, Beijing and GMT on the upper left and my Reuters Messaging box below that.

Almost forgot. Top of the photo about 2/6 from the left. I think that's a pelican in flight. It just pops out from under the edge of the monitor cover and every so often it pops out at me. Ironically the right most upper icon is "Toad."

[Little Known fbmf Fact]
I have had the same wallpaper (the cover art of the original Ravenloft module) on every computer I have owned/been assigned through my job for about ten years running.

Can't describe why, but I really like that painting.

My wife got me a copy of the painting (Glici, Gleaci, or whatever) as a wedding gift.
