Re: 4e magic items!

I can see what they're doing with not letting NPCs benefit from magic item bonuses. That actually makes sense. Because in 3E it was a total bitch to assign all kinds of crazy magic crap to your NPCs to make them compete in the christmas tree world.[br][br]So it they're keeping the whole item buffs, ...

One of our goals in 4th Edition was to reduce characters’ reliance on magic items. [br][br]Consider that goal a failure. Re: New Edition: Monsters

It'd be kind of interesting if mooks didn't have hp. They just got like improved evasion or something and like if they took any damage at all, they were out of the fight. Makes it easier to put down a bucket load of goblins and track them.

Re: Hit and run

If leaders get stuff like white raven tactics and other initiative manipulations, they'll be all about the win. Sure, they won't be the guys actually winning, but maybe having one on your team means the wizard gets to act twice in a round or something, and then they're certainly tactically useful. [...

Yeah it's balanced because it assumes that both sides get their per encounter abilities back, so you start even.

Also we're not sure how healing works yet... so it might be hit point attrition that stays. I don't know.

Yeah honestly, I like just having cold iron be anything iron or steel that hasn't been touched by magic. So basically you've got to have a non-magical sword, not created by fabricate or anything.
