What about simply the focus system, but not how it is implemented in psionics. I hear that the current implementation pretty much sucked, but what about the idea of the system itself, without looking at the current implementation? An example: If I make a focus-figher class for instance, and give it ...

Thoughts about some points I like opinions on

I would like to ask the opinion on several points. This is from a design perspective and a fun-having perspective. 1) Psionics has a "system" called psionic focus. It allows you to have bonusses by having focus and it allows you to expend psionic focus to get a one-time bigger bonus (like ...

Yes, let's remake v3.5 again. That sounds like time well-spent. I wouldnt mind that ;), although you might have meant it sarcastically as TGD has several "systems" in-house in the works. Frank (and K) did a lot of work with Tomes and TNE. But both are no longer "real" 3.5. Tome ...

I think tier-seperation is a good idea. And it should work fine for 3.5 as well. Basic classes like...I dont know, the Fighter, can be a Tier 1 class, also known as the "realistic tier" which ranges from level 1 to 5. After level 5, you can take a supernatural class (or prestige class), th...

I kinda agree with Frank there. Feats are general abilities that anyone can learn (with certain limitations) while prestige classes are a whole package around a specific theme. Now, there is a whole bunch of prestige classes that can easily be "converted" to feats if you just look at the c...

Pretty much. I mean, if you want to take out enemies as a wizard you wouldn't bother with doing damage at all. You'd do something like this: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Spells_That_Fvcking_Kill_People_(DnD_Other) -Username17 I am sorry to say but the page you linked to, is...empty. I hope the list...

True, let me answer the thread properly then. Currently, I am playing once per week on friday evening with a group of friends. Its a heavily house-ruled (think semi-Tome) as the campaign world has some unique specifics in it.

Damn and I was about to go to bed too before I saw that. Can I sue him for emotional damage?

I assume the figher vs wizard balance was never a point of how much damage you do in a round, but rather what else can you do besides that.

2) Yes, you are right, Roy. Besides the part that you showed me (from a book I dont know yet which one it is ,you gave no title but it seems be especially about dragons), but the DMG shows under "handling of magic items" that monsters, assuming they can use the items, will use items they f...

MM2 is borked. Ignore it. As for monsters in general... Dragons specifically can equip anything a person can despite having drastically different anatomies. And most Outsiders are more or less humanoid in shape, so same deal. That covers most intelligent enemies right there. Also, said creatures of...

Wow, a lot of information to digest. Thank to all your people for explaining it in greater depths (despite the discussions that flare up about it  ). It made me read MM1 again, to see how you should equip monsters. Well, generally, according to the MM1, you don't except when they have advancem...

Thanks for all the replies people. As for non-multiclass characters...well, one is a druid, the other a duskblade (I heard that is one of the acceptable melee classes) and I use a ToB:Bo9S variant and I plan to multiclass into a prestige class. The other wanted to play a samurai (yes the CW version)...

Sorry to interrupt the venting of paizo fail, but Roy says AC doesnt matter. Is that from a certain level (I do know that the attack vs AC increases in favor of attacking as you level up) ? Or just in general ? We play 3.5 and we have houseruled stuff (there is no wish economy for instance in our ca...

If you want WoF to allow actions above the WoF-dice roll, can't you just give it a penalty (see it as a variant listed in a side-box). Say you give a -10 penalty to attack rolls when using a combat ability that is not rolled for by the WoF dice. I assume that results of 1 offer more lower level powe...

There is a list for such things in the DMG, under creating your own monsters.

target AC = 13+CR and attack = (CR*1.5)+2 , I believe.

So to make a fighter of CR 1, you will need 14 AC. If it is a heavy armored fighter, you can make its AC 16 (shield bonus).
