This cannot be achieved without changing DnD so much that it would no longer resemble DnD. I know it can be achieved without changing D&D because RC works like this. In RC fighters with full options (DM allows weapons mastery) are generally considered the most powerful class. No, they don't fly...

Another point, if you want Chars to have shield in their hand, you must not allow animated shields.

Some not allready mentioned: In Dragon Magic is a PRC that lets you get any spell from any spell list. But you loose Caster Levels. (If I remember correctly exactly at the levels you gain the Spell) Unseen Seer from Complete Mage gets you any (one or two, depending on how much levels you take ) Divi...

Hold on to your monocle -- the D&D magic system is not particularly similar to how magic is treated in any story of any kind, ever (with the possible exception of Vance's Dying Earth stories). In most stories, magic is a vaguely defined MacGuffin/deus ex machina that is rarely used , hence ther...

Cheap shot, an D&D book (Drizzt, etc)

Not so cheap shot, Harry Dresden has
1. Duster,
2. Staff,
3. fire rod,
4. sometimes potions (or other one shot items),
5. kinetic rings

more than 4, if you count potions.
But Harry is an Wizard, and I had to stretch to go over 4.

My confusion came from Kaeliks post, since he hadnt this "Sans size modi" part. My second post was more a mini-rant against DSA - Das Schwarze Auge(The Dark Eye? in English). Maybe if I'll write sometime a full rant, but I would need to reread the rules for that and I'm not so shure if I r...

I stated before that the system uses CMD = CMB + Touch AC ( sans size modifier). It was a short hand, because the formula hogarth states is both correct and uses essentially the entire Touch AC except the size modifier. I didn't expect people to somehow infer that size modifiers are somehow counted...

I thought in 4ed all works the same RC? Fighter use the same mechanic like Wizards. etc, et nauseum. One of the reason its boring . Yeah 4ed might have some pearls in the mud, but far in between. I tried it at the beginning (one free month).
It had only 10 Levels, but 2 or 4 steps between the levels, where you got Epic Level Feats (they called it something other, but +1 to an Stat is an Epic Level Feat, even if its crap for an Epic Level Feat)

I like the approach of 4E where you aren't especially concerned about dumpster diving to make monsters, you just make the monster you fucking want and get on with your life. You're more worried about "will this kill my party?" rather than "lets see, what splatbooks do I need to make ...

Conan RPG - Opinions?

It looks nice.

Casters seems to be balanced with Non-Casters.
There are free Combat-Maneuvers you can use, as soon as you have the Pre-Reqs.
Dex. based Fighter seems (to me) functional (you can bypass armor, which gives DR).

Is there anything I should be wary off?

Specific example for an general problem?

Or is your plan to always occupy the Bard, and throw Diplomacy stuff at the ugly Fighter?
And arent you (see topic) forcing the player to ruin it?
