Re: Races of War
Y'know, I just read all seven (so far) pages of that sh!t, having to actually go back and re-register on the Wizards boards to do so, and I cannot believe how much crap the foil action's received. I just went back and reread the class feature. It's not even available until Ftr9, by which even the 3/...

Hi, Mr. Homeland Security Man![br][br]Crissa, you don't need to destroy the whole airliner to actually take it down. If it's in the middle of the Atlantic, all you need's a sufficiently good-sized hole in the hull. My bet is that that much explosive power could probably be packed into a bottle of Ga...

In D&D isn't a better representation of what conventional comics-and-movies psionics actually is is from the warlock?[br][br]I don't own the book he's in, but it's my understanding he gets a short list of ever-growing powers defined by theme.[br][br]I thought what psionics should be was a guy wh...

Re: We're not talking about 'the war' enough
For some reason, we have the hubris to believe that we can make Jesus arrive sooner by instigating the events prophesied in the Bible. [br][br]My guess is that that isn't exactly the mindset they have.[br][br]Jesus wouldn't be arriving sooner … no, he'd merely be arriving . Nothing's being sped up ...

I mean, you see this sort of distinction made in fuggin' comic books. Superman is weak against 'magic' but is strong against 'psionics'. [br][br]There are a couple of distinctions, depending on the setting. Inborn vs. Learned: Anyone with sufficient training can become a magician. One has to be bor...

Re: More on deities and how RPGs treats them.
First of all, your cleric is serving them, and your cleric can get to epic levels. Is the god granting him more power than the god himself has? It's kinda dumb if the cleric gets to be a higher CR than the guy granting him his power.[br][br]Second, destroying a god will rapidly destabilize the game...

Okay. I play a core-only game, and I don't own the book those're in. I can't assess the value of the animal type with regard to those spells.[br][br]I figured the animal type was just shorthand anyway. Something to avoid having to say, "A magical beast with an Int of 1 or 2 with no spell-like o...

Re: A Compendium of LA+0 races (new creations)
First, the distinctive feature is the extra arms, which is worth quite a lot. Second, being able to choose to be effected as either an animal or human is disturbingly powerful. And third, the stat modifiers are far more animalistic then i intended - if anything the second bonus should be to intelli...

If that's enough for you, that's great. Re: Ninja Core Class for Review (High-ish Fantasy)
I'd give your ninja the traps class feature at something like levels 3-5. This means a horde of low-level ninja are still blowed up by a glyph of warding , for instance, which is appropriately cinematic.[br][br]I'd make the art of evasion class feature a quickened ethereal jaunt for a number of roun...

To make room for someone that some functionary in HLS was friends with.
Unfortunately, as someone with a decade's experience teaching in the public schools but who's nonetheless been out of work for a year, this sounds like the real reason.

Try this: [br][br]A sorcerer may cast any spell on his spell list, but, if he has not chosen this spell as one of his spells known, casting this spell uses a spell slot of its listed level +1. This should probably mention that you need to be on the River Styx in the first place to use this power, unless you want some truly odd things to happen.
I thought that was the point.
