It's been a year since I last played, but yeah, something like that. With Brawn 5 and a decent armor piece you'll be immune to everything but heavy blaster crit cheese. I don't remember what the difference between wookie and trandoshan is. According to the book the diff is that wookiees do more dam...

What's a good alternative system for playing Star Was with then? Shadowrun 4e with Adept Jedi and jet pack bounty hunters? Probably not Shadowrun, guns stomp all over melee weapons and adepts are a shitty life choice unless you're using them to cheaply max a skill out. Also, to stay relevant, I'm n...

I've always thought summoning worked like it did in Fate/staynight; it's basically a construct of magical power modelled after an existing being and anything done to it doesn't affect the original.

On the topic of succubi, what's their level equivalent as cohorts?

In another game, I made a combative I-Cop for the Infinite Worlds campaign. I used the base I-Cop template in the book and messed with stuff. I wanted to make him a broadly competent combatant, with guns and unarmed attacks at high levels. Language Talent seems useful for being able to talk to all s...

So, a while back (I mean so many pages I don't even begin to remember precisely where), someone mentioned something about being able to make the bard a good arcane gish-in-a-can. How in Pathfinder would one make a good fighting bard (the actual bard class, not a skald or anything like that), prefer...

Yeah, which is why I'm reconsidering my mad emphasis on it. I guess I'll ditch those two then, but I can't think of good combat advantages. Maybe I should huck more points into gun skill. That breakpoint article was very helpful.

I looked at the free spirit rules, apparently they expect you to pay 250 BP for: - +1 to all stats (capped by your Force, which is also your Magic stat) - free Magician quality - points of Spirit powers equal to your Magic/Force - no ware, ever - no foci, ever - no karma ever It just seems like a g...

I forgot to mention, but the GM said he was collapsing guns into Pistols, Longarms and Launchers. Since they're Easy and I have a decent DX I figured there was no harm in spending a point each on all of them. And while X-COM normally features very expendable grunts, in this case we're supposed to be...

Daredevil doesn't explicitly limit you to one reroll per roll, but expect rule zero. Yeah, the GM already said lolno. The usual optimization guidelines (IQ>DX>skills>HT>ST, Combat Reflexes + Rapid Healing, Exotic>Mundane, costly abilities get limitations, cheap abilities get enhancements). *scribbl...

Minmaxing in GURPS?

So I'm playing an X-COM* agent in a GURPS 4e game. It's set just before X-COM becomes a proper paramilitary organization with skyrangers and robotanks and shit, so I imagine we're expected to be more than mere grunts. A friend of mine recommended the combo of (Total) Klutz and Daredevil; Total Klutz...

Big Purple suggests that they're trying to go for smaller armies so new players can join. As it is WFB needs hundreds and hundreds of bucks of minis to play, which is a significant barrier to entry for anyone who's just starting out.

Do they not also generate a domain/BGC aspected towards the user? That means you'd get a serious boosting of most any magical attempt you make in there. Also, it'll bolster magical defence quite a bit, as everybody else trying to cast in/into there will face the negative side of BGC. I don't rememb...

I wonder if he's mad because people aren't paying him attention.

Also, I'm going to run a 4e game, involving the Matrix, but not using the Ends rules. I'm aware of most of the pitfalls of the system (script Kiddy, Hackastack, Agent Smith and Infinity Mirror) but what else do I need to look out for?

Nope. And actually, since the core book apparently intends to be longer than Atlas Shrugs and has been in development hell for several years, there's every reason to believe all of those particular problems will be worse. The real question is while the dialog in the included fiction be better than ...

Koumei: yes to your first and only question. Specifically, I'm wondering about three situations: One, if I take three levels in Inheritor's Crusader as a cleric and then pick up a Silver Smite Bracelet , is the level of my Smite Evil 3, 4, or 7? 7, because Champion of Honor stacks with paladin leve...

I ended up doing just that.

Next question: assuming Availability is not an issue, should I go for the Ares Desert Strike rifle (8P AP-3 SA 14(c), free extended barrel, 3.35k) or the Barrett Model 121 (9P AP-4 SA 14(c), free silencer, smartgun and bipod, 9k)?

For destroying barriers, the DV is 2 per bullet. What if it's in a full auto burst? Have battering rams ever been statted up? I'm using heavy milspec armor + helmet (18/16 soak) and have a BOD of 5. Am I better off spending 10 BP to get BOD 6 or putting two Mobility enhancements into it (normally I ...

Fair enough. I'm playing a KE HTR entry man so I was just wondering whether I should blow power points on kicking doors down rather than just firing a narrow full burst of shock lock rounds into it. For incapacitating people, sound definitely seems like thr best element. Ignores all armor and if the...
