I have known a couple. They generally don't date guys like me.

EDIT: Or are in relationships with someone else. Or are lesbians.

Right arm still in a sling, but I'm doing light physio and exercises.

Also, Project: Ambidexterity has advanced enough that I can write (slowly and somewhat messily) and draw (very slowly) left-handed. I actually managed to draw some upload-worthy porn (taking 2-3 hours as opposed to the 1 hour tops it would normally take).

So there is a bright side to this. Now I want to be temporarily blinded so I can develop sonar!

I didn't realize you were a Blue Mage. That's pretty cool.

My weight is rather stubbornly refusing to drop any further, but I've lost 2 and a half inches around my waist. I've been told that losing inches is more important than what the scale says. That makes me feel good about myself, so I choose to believe it :p.

No shit it's more important. Muscle weighs more than fat.

Passive sonar is a definite cool thing. If you know the general frequency distribution of the sound you can locate it from a 360 degree perspective in spite of the fact that only two points of reference can't tell you if it is behind you or in front of you. (The human ear transmits different frequencies differently depending if they are in front of behind so that's how you break the tie.)

But that doesn't quite compare to the amount of audio storage you can get when you turn off video recording. I have a blind friend in the Knights; the amount of stuff he routine memorizes, even for one time speeches, is mind bogginly insane.

Yeah. When I get in shape I do nothing but gain weight.

I sent in an application last week for a job that I'm very qualified to do (strongly recommends an associate's degree, strongly desires experience in a biology lab, both of which I possess). They sent me an assessment to take, which I did well on. With any luck, I'll get an interview (this is the farthest I've gotten in my process to find a decent job). Furthermore, this is an area with a similar cost of living compared to where I live now, and it's in a considerably more populous area than where I live now, so maybe I can find more people that don't suck (I've found a few that don't suck here, but I imagine more people = more non-sucking people just by percentage).

I am trying not to get my hopes up with all the unemployed people with degrees around, but with any luck I can slide into a new position in a better area. (It'll be a region with 1.6 million people, it will be withing 20 minutes of my favorite amusement park, I'll be making more money than I ever had before, etc).

Seconded, Count!!

---

Three years ago, my mom was diagnosed with melanoma on the bottom of her foot from a wound she received a decade earlier when she cut her foot on an oyster shell at the beach and it never healed.

Yesterday, failing to fully consider my mother's example, I took off my shoes on a beach that wasn't very foot friendly, and got cut on some seashells.

This is not a fun experience. It's not like a simple cut. It's lacerations every which way. The skin was peeled off and there's some pretty sensitive bruising, too. It feels like like someone stuck a mini d4 into the bottom of my foot that won't get out.

Looking at it, though, it doesn't look like anything. It's just a red spot in the arch of my foot. But it hurts so badly to walk on it that sometimes I just stop and cry.

I feel like the biggest idiot, but I have at least recolved that I will not be putting up with this for ten years.

...and that is why I prefer to wear those aqua sock things on beaches. Shitty situation, Maj.

Count: Good luck dude.

Maj: I feel your pain, I had one of those one time. Took freaking forever to heal.

All else: Thanks. That's what lead to the avatar change, I'm trying my damnedest to be as positive as I can in hopes that it will mean more positive results, and I can't think of anything more positive than ponies. It's very hard, but I am trying my damnedest.

I'm slightly bummed. The cute blonde chicky I was pursuing is a former stripper. Yeah, I may be a sap when it comes to dames, but not enough of one that I'll think that's going to end well.

Ah well, back to the drawing board.

Some of my best friends are former strippers. And the former part wasn't the case when they became one of my close friends. No reason to reject someone.

The strippers I have known tended to be highly damaged after being one. Also, I have had a long history of women leading me around by my dick, I do not want to be with a woman that did that professionally.

Count, you need to pile on the Sense Motive ranks and start figuring out who people are rather than what they are.
