My son makes me laugh. Maybe he'll make you laugh, too.

So I was reading Dilbert strips at Dilbert.com when this pop-up ad came up:
Now, I've seen some weird things on the internet, but this is by far one of the more baffling ones. I mean, why would Taiwan be where WWIII starts? It just don't track.
Is this wretched demi-bee
Half asleep upon my knee
Some freak from a menagerie?
No! It's Eric, the half a bee

It's probably just to get you to click on the link, if nothing else. I'm surprised they didn't post a picture of some Mounties, or something. There could be a caption with it that says "click for free malware", and a non-zero number of people would reflexively click it out of sheer curiosity.Shrapnel wrote: Now, I've seen some weird things on the internet, but this is by far one of the more baffling ones. Well, the thing with Taiwan is that China insists they still own it and the US intermittently tasks carrier groups with insisting they do not.

There's also a plausible argument that Taiwan is the "China" who has a permanent seat on the UN security council, which ups the ante that much more. Not an issue if they're part of PRC; very much an issue if they're independent.

One casting every six seconds at CL9 gives you a bit more than 40 liters per second, which is comparable to the flow rates of some small, but serious, rocket engines. Six items running at full blast through a well-engineered engine will put you, and something like 50 tons of cargo, into space. Alternatively, if you thrust sideways, you will briefly be a fireball screaming across the sky at mach 14 before you melt from atmospheric friction.
Yeah, Taiwan is kind of a big deal politically wrt China. Note that when fectin says:
He means "Taiwan had the Chinese permanent security council seat until 1971 and was removed by virtue of no longer recognizing it as a sovereign nation."There's also a plausible argument that Taiwan is the "China" who has a permanent seat on the UN security council

It's from Hidamari Sketch an anime adaption of a 4koma serise by Aoki Ume. if her style is familiar it probably because of thisMeikle641 wrote:That art style is familiar. Is that RaTe's SFW persona?
Yep. Ume-sensei did the character designs for Madoka Magica (which like Hidamari Sketch was animated by Studio Shaft). Her style is know for it's distinctively wide faces.
